PRESENT
Étienne was hanging out in his favorite spot, the library. He couldn't believe that things do exist, Like Heaven and Hell and such. All those beliefs of his went down the drain a long time ago. He chose not to believe since their father was killed. Now, more than ever, he only has rage in his heart. He lost his faith in everything, specifically in God when their father's name appeared as a target in the Loom.
He had been keeping that secret from Adrien for years now. He has different emotions when he saw the paper that was on Louis' list of targets.
Before Louis left with Aleksandra and started their mission, Louis like other Assassins have copies of their list of targets in the Library's archive. Étienne dug deep when his little self got curious about what was inside the Library apart from books.
FLASHBACK TO 14 years old Étienne
"That's all for today!" Guillaume said as their training ended. Antoine has tasked him to train Étienne and Adrien to be an assassin. "Thank you, Sir!" Étienne politely said and he and his younger brother took their leave.
"How are they doing, Brother?" Antoine asked Guillaume whose in the training field. They are learning a lot Brother! Specifically, Étienne! There is something in those boys' eyes." Guillaume gave Antoine his observation of the recent recruit.
"How did. they get here?" Antoine asked as he got intrigued by the two boys' skills. " Remember when you sent Louis and Aleksandra to Vaucluse?" Guillaume described hoping his brother would recall it. "Yeah! I remember now! Louis adopted those two boys, as he felt pity for them!" Antoine said as he had that picture fresh from his mind. He kind of wishes that it was François. But like any other parent, he was disappointed in him for not following in his footsteps.
Meanwhile.
The brothers who were leading the crew were busy chatting about their people's progress. Étienne found himself, in the library. Ever since their father mentioned the Binary codes his interest grew more on them.
All Adrien and Étienne knew when they were little is that their father, André works in a private company and was a former right hand by one of their bosses. Their father failed to mention their bosses' identities. But the specific boss taught him how to read the Binary. He was delighted by the newly gained knowledge and thought of passing it over to his sons.
On one of his vacations in Vaucluse, he sat with the two of them and showed them his newfound skill. Adrien was so young then, and the playful kid that he is, he didn't show much interest in them. Étienne however, finds it amusing. "Here son!" André showed him how it is done. Étienne recalls those sweet moments with his father.
Étienne being the curious bee thought that he will find something in the library. And to his surprise, he found a lot. The library became his haven. After training, he would rest and go to the library before supper.
"Where are you going?" Adrien asked his brother who ran past him. " The Library!" Étienne replied who was in a hurry. Adrien was left alone so he continued training by himself.
PRESENT
Like what Antoine ordered, Guillaume gathered all the assassins loyal to them. After the revolt that Étienne started, they only were left with a handful of assassins. They met them in the secret hideout.
Their loyal assassins vowed to keep Guillaume's identity as just the Repairman.Étienne has no clue that Guillaume still works for his brother, Antoine. They made Étienne believe that Antoine had died in their battle when he took over the leadership of being the Guardian of the Loom. It was a bloody battle and Guillaume's people were outnumbered by Étienne. As Guillaume's men lost the fight. He remained in the recovery room. He just focused on healing their assassins. Little did he know, it was all for the show.
Antoine met with them and made his speech. He re-introduced himself. Although they cannot be known as the 'Guardian of the loom' he told them that what Étienne was doing was manipulation of the target. And that the real target and the truth are in his and Guillaume's hands. Antoine also mentioned that there is a third one and that she needs to be enlightened with the truth about the targets of the Loom, and that it should be followed accordingly.
While everyone is busy with the truth in the Loom and the right target. Someone is also busy with their feelings.
Back in Toulouse
Jean was happy that he was able to complete his first task. He promised himself that he will tell Hélène was he is truly feeling as he cannot hold it any longer. After the mission was completed, They decided to hang out on one of the rooftops of the Hotel where they will stay for the next couple of days. Jean composed himself. " Hélène, I, I need to tell you something.".
Jean was feeling like he was about to collapse. But his feelings cannot hold on any longer. He thought that if he dies today, then there was no way he can tell the truth to Hélène. So he continued, " Hélène, I'm so sorry if this is so sudden, I know that you have no idea how this happened and we cannot get personal as our Oath the Fraternity, but I want to tell this to you now, who knows, I might die in my next mission, I- I like you Hélène! I'm sorry, let me rephrase that, I-I love you! Even if it's just for a short period, I love you! I think you are the one that I have been waiting for, and I love everything about you. I know you will not trust me, but I hope you could give me a chance to show you how much I love you." Jean said his piece in a shaky voice and with tears in his eyes. Hélène was speechless.
A/n: Another episode you guys! Hmm. Manipulation of Target? Revolt? Why did Étienne have to do that? What's Antoine and Guillaume's plan?
And Jean spilled his heart over to Hélène. What do you think her answer would be? Will she give it a pass or blew up the chance?
