Spencer's POV
The school bell rings and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to see Olivia as soon as I walked through the door.
For some reason, we haven't been able to end our nights on the best of notes since we met and that's frustrating.
"Guess what," Lando walks over to tell me as I sit down at my desk to prepare for first period.
"Coach has jury duty. No practice!" He shouts and I nod as I keep one eye on the classroom door. But she doesn't come.
"Lunchtime," JR says as he catches me walking down the hallway a few minutes after second period.
I shake his hand before seeing a glimpse of Olivia walking into the cafeteria from a distance.
"Damn! What are you hungry?" JR asks as I quickly walk inside and head straight for the line.
I stand about ten people behind her and I'm certain she notices me as she talks to Simone and Nate about only God knows what.
"Oh I see now! You're trying to make your way over to the new girl." He says and I still ignore him. "How are you going to explain the whole Zena thing?"
"I'm going to tell her the truth," I admit.
He touches my forehead and I pull away. "Are you sick?"
I laugh before shaking my head no and grabbing my food.
They sit two tables over and I notice Olivia's eyes connect with mine before she quickly looks away.
"You see that?" I ask him and he looks at me confused. "She's avoiding me."
"What are you talking about?"
"I was wondering if I didn't see Olivia today because our schedules just didn't align or because after that debacle yesterday she didn't want any parts of me. And that look away was my answer."
"Well, I mean ol' boy did paint a pretty ugly picture of you being a pimp in front of her," JR counters and I suck my teeth.
"You know like I know I'm not a player or pimp. None of that!"
"Yeah but what I don't know is what happened with you and Zena Saturday night," he says as I cut my eyes back over towards her table.
This time she's laughing with Simone and Nate as I tap my hand against the table.
"You want to know what happened? She happened."
"What do you mean?" He counters in between bites to his food.
"That night she and I talked, I didn't want to be bothered with Zena or any other girl. All I could think about was her."
"No closure sex? No nothing?" He asks and I shake my head adamantly.
"She didn't even make it into the house," I say truthfully.
"You deserve a reward for that. For real! I would've broken her off one last time, for sure." He jokes and I only chuckle as I see Olivia dumping her tray.
