The bell rang, signalling that school was over. I got up from my desk, grabbing my binder. I walked out of the classroom, making sure I was first. I headed to my locker and opened it, examining the many pictures of my 'friends' and I. Almost all of them were of us partying. I focused my attention on grabbing the books I needed for my homework before shutting the blue metal door. I turned as Rachel called my name.

"Aislynn! What's up, whore?" she laughed jokingly, slinging her tanned arms around my shoulders and kissing my cheek. "So you gonna go to that killer party at my house tonight? My parents are out of town for the weekend. There's gonna be alchohol and tons of hot guys." She winked and smiled, flashing her pearly white teeth. I shrugged.

"I'm not sure. I have to babysit the little brat." I rolled my eyes and sighed dramatically.

"Ugh, I feel bad for you." Rachel grimaced. "Why don't you just hire someone else to watch her for you?"

"I totally would, but hey, at least I'm getting paid for this." I replied.

"Wish I got paid for watching my siblings... Oh well. I'll see you later or whatever. Text me, kay?" Rachel said, blowing me a kiss and winking.

"Okay." I blew a kiss back, then turned and walked out the front doors to my red convertable. I climbed in and shut the door behind me, turning the keys as I put them in the ignition. I turned up my radio, blasting the newest Maroon 5 song. I pulled out and sped out of the school driveway, the wind blowing through my blonde hair. I pulled into my driveway in about ten minutes and turned off the car. I let out a sigh, then climbed out and headed for the door of the huge house. I opened it and shut it behind me quietly. I remained in the doorway for a moment, trying to dicern rather my parents were home or not. I could faintly hear yelling upstairs in the master bedroom. I sighed again and headed up the staircase and into my own room, closing the door behind me. I tossed my books onto my king sized bed. I walked over to my dresser and gazed out the window into our back yard, listening to my mom and step-dad argue. I couldn't tell what they were saying, but from the sound of glass shattering, I knew it had to be a pretty bad one. I soon heard their door open and listened as my mom stomped down the stairs, my step-dad following her, roaring. The front door slammed shut, making my door rattle as I cringed. The house became silent and I looked out the window only to see my mother pulling away in her silver prius. I felt my heart sink as the sound of my step-father's footsteps creaked on the stairs. Dread filled me as he came closer to my door. I turned as he opened it, fear in my eyes.
