Everywhere there was very greenery. Very less pollution was there. The Hill station looked very good from afar. The sun was in the east with the awesome wind of Autumn. The Maple trees were straight as the fellows on the road with mats of orange leaves below them. Very often few cars were honking and passing.
But still, in the sweet morning, some footfalls of running were being heard. A schoolgirl with the orange hair was running with all power she has with her. She was running towards the school uphills. After running for a few minutes she approached the school.
She ran as fast as she could to the classroom and stopped right in front of the classroom. She rested her palm to calm down her nerves. She slowly sighed and opened the classroom door and entered the classroom taking everyone's attention to herself. She made an apologetic bow and said- "I am sorry for being late Sensei." But instead of getting mad, the teacher who is as well as new in the school smiled at the new student. She said-"No, you are here at the right time. So class, meet your new classmate- Kyoko. Can you introduce yourself?"
Kyoko turned to the class with an angelic smile and introduced herself-"Hello! I am Anekawa Kyoko. I know I am joining this school in the middle year because of some purpose. But still, I hope I can be your friend."
Everyone seemed to be happy to have a new classmate. As the teacher nodded, Kyoko looked for an empty seat and found a seat beside a spectacles girl which was right beside the row where a boy with black hair was sitting with a distracted mind. She took the seat as her bench mate smiled at her and turned to the teacher again. Kyoko looked to the right side where the boy sat.
That boy had an impressive look. He had black hair and an amazing haircut. He had blue lenses. He was wearing his headphones. He seemed to be completely distracted in another world. He was looking outside the window. Suddenly he looked at Kyoko. She gets ashamed and shifter her eyes back toward the teacher.
Just then the teacher said-"Okay, whomever I will ask will answer this question. Hmm... you! The black hair boy. Can you answer it?"
The boy nodded and answered fluently. Kyoko was completely amazed. She looked at her bench mate who was mumbling- "You are acing." Kyoko looked back at the boy who had just sat down on his bench after getting praised by the teacher. Just by then, the bell rang indicating that the class was over. The teacher smiled and left the room. But Kyoko got up from her seat and chased her outside.
As the teacher looked at her Kyoko said- "Ummm... Sensei, I am new here and nervous about the school's whole term." The teacher looked at her and shouted at the bench mate of Kyoko- "Fumiko! Please can you be Kyoko's guide?" She smiled, winked at me, and left as she received a nod from that girl.
Kyoko's POV-
That girl with spectacles approached me. She had a sweet smile on her face. She said- "Hello, Kyoko. I am Tada Fumiko. Nice to meet you." My lips turned upward at her angelic attitude. I said- "Hi! You are my bench mate cum guide. Right?" She nodded and looked at her wristwatch. She looked again at me and said- "Our next class is at 8:20 a.m. So we have enough time to take a tour of the school. You are coming right?" I nodded as she made me follow her.
Within 10 minutes she gave me a great understanding tour of the whole school. Then right in front of the 'Club Section' we both stopped. She turned to face me. She said- "Well, we all students have different favors. You are free to join any club that you like. But nobody is going to force you though. There are- 'Books club', 'Music club', 'Dancing club', 'Comics club', 'Arts club' and 'Photography club'. Which one you would prefer to join?"
I rested my chin on my finger and replied to her-"I would like to join...the Dance Club"
She smiled at me and said- "Alright, we have to join our next classes. At the lunch break register your name."
I nodded and followed her to the classroom back. A few classes went on.
*Lunch Break*
As soon as I finished my breakfast, I headed towards the 'Dancing Club'. But to my surprise, I found no one there. I stared at the huge mirror on the walls and railings on each side of the walls. I walked inside the room. But very suddenly I jumped at someone's hand's sudden fall on my back. I looked back and discovered a girl of the same class with short hair and a bun above her hair. Her look was like that she was very surprised.
She asked me-"How can I help you?"
I looked at her questioningly and said- "I-I am here to register my name for Ballet."
She looked at me and nodded. Then she grabbed a notebook and wrote my name. My curiosity overcame and I straightly asked-"Are you the only one? I mean why this club is...so empty?"
She didn't even look at me but smiled slightly and said-"Yeah. Very rare people are interested in such things. At first, it was only me here and then very rare people used to come. But one day, a girl joined and she was very flawless in Ballet. She changed the fate."
I said- "How?"
She continued- "Her flawless performances glorified all to join and we had lots of members in here, but..."
I could understand that she was hesitating and I insisted on her-"But...?"
She smiled at me again but this time she looked into my eyes-"She went so far away that anyone could not trace her. As she left all the people lost their courage and left as well. And since then it's empty."
I asked- "But you didn't leave, because you love Ballet and it's your passion..."
She was surprised greatly and asked me-"H-how do you know?"
I got tensed at such a surprising response and I told her-"Y-your eyes and fluency can tell that. P-please calm down."
She looked back at the ground and apologized for being such surprising. She looked at me again and said- "What's your name?"
I replied to her with a smile- "Kyoko, Anekawa Kyoko. You?"
She smiled back and said- "I am Sakura Aoi, nice to meet you, Kyoko."
"Same here, Aoi," I said and shook her hand.
"Oh, it's time to join the class. Sorry, but I have to go now, see you tomorrow though." She said while waving me a 'Goodbye'.
"Yeah, see you," I said and went back to class.
Everything went normally as it was. Later at the end of school, I made my way quickly to my grandfather's cottage. As I entered grandpa looked at me smiling and asked- "How was your day, san?"
"It was awesome, ojiisan," I said.
"Alright then have your dinner and go to bed early." He said.
I nodded and followed his instruction. I always obey Grandpa though.
So after that, I went to my bed with a full stomach. I cheered myself and fall asleep.
"I was always a sleepyhead. I couldn't enjoy it too much because of it. But that day was the great one among all because that day I met my best tomo, I mean friend who thought I was dead." - Ikari Yoshiko
