Last summer, my mom and I were walking in the park. I loved seeing people playing with their dogs.
I have never had a dog before, but I really want one. "Mom, can I get a dog?" I asked.
"Honey we don't have enough room around the house, and a dog is too messy." She replied.
"I promise I will take care of it. I will bathe it, feed it, give it water every day, and I will make sure it get a walk anytime I have time. Please mom. Please!"
My mom looked at me hard. "Do you have enough money for all of the supplies?"
"Yes. I've been saving up my money for it."
"So you can even pay for it?" My mom a said. I nodded. "If you can take good care of it then ok."
"YES!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I screamed with joy. "But one problem with it, your sending it back." She said.
A week later, my mom took me to the shelter. I saw soo many cute dogs there, but I couldn't decide.
"What about that little guy. He seems quiet." My mother said looking at an old grey hound.
"Mom, I want a dog that I can depend on for til I'm in college. I'm sorry but he is too old."
"What about one of this little things." She said. "I don't want a toy poodle. Do u get me at all? I'm kidding lol.
Then there he was. Right in front of me in that big cage of poodles was a small golden retriever puppy.
"He is the one mom." I said bouncing with joy. "Your sure you want him... He seems a little hyper." My mom said not very impressed.
"I'm positive it's him." I said with a big grin.
The best day of my life was when I got to meet Scooter for the first time. He loved me as soon as I touched him, and I loved him too.
When we got home, I showed him all of his new dog toys. "What are you going to name him?" My mother said walking into my room.
"I don't know yet, but he is really hyper and fast. Mom, you don't know how much I love you right now." I said unable to stop smiling.
"Don't thank me. Your the one who bought him and is taking care of him. I'm going to make some dinner."
The puppy and I followed my mom into the kitchen. "What are we having?" I had to ask.
"Tacos tonight." She continued. "It might be long so you can go out and do your own thing.
I took my puppy and we went outside. I grabbed my scooter and we raced around the block.
When we got home I was panting more than him. In fact, he wasn't panting at all!
"Wow you have a lot of energy. Your as fast as my scooter. Hey! Do you wanna be called Scooter?" I said rubbing his head
The pup started jumping around. I ran inside and threw my jacket on the floor.
"Pick that up. I don't want you messing the house up with all of your landry." My mother scolded.
"Fine. Come on Scooter!" I said picking up my jacket and ran to my room.
