I STARED AT her in utter disbelief. "I'm sorry, what?" I asked, letting out a stressed chuckle. She simply grinned and leaned back on the kitchen counter.
"How the hell am I gonna grab lunch with you if I'm fucking dead?" I shouted in frustration. A strained gasp escaped Five's lips, catching my attention. I watched as his eyes fogged white.
Five's body twitched as he stood, struggling to break free from the trance. Slowly, his head turned, and his expression changed from despair to a cold stare. He came closer as I backed away, holding out my hands.
"Five..." I was cut off when he threw a punch, striking me in the gut. I grunted and staggered back, clutching my stomach.
"Snap out of it, old man!" I yelled at him, aiming at him as I shot a blast. He tilted his head; it brushed past him and hit the wall, rubble clattered on the ground.
The corner of his lips tugged into a shrilling scowl as if mocking me for my pathetic attack. I gulped, my stomach dropping as a sickening feeling churned in me. I already knew how this would end, and the future was not in my favor. But I am obviously not going to back down without a fight, I'm way too stubborn to lose.
He rolled back his shoulders and bawled up his fists in a fighting stance. I chuckled lightly to myself, slightly nervous, but a little excited. But seeing his shit-eating grin ticked me off.
"What you smiling for, huh? Let me wipe that cheeky grin off your face." I taunted while punching the air.
"I may be high on drugs but I'm about to beat your ass." I shifted from one foot to the other, fooling around. To be honest, I'm all bark no bite. But he doesn't need to know that.
"Reggie didn't raise no bitch!"
He disappeared in a blink of an eye and punched me from behind, cutting off the rest of my sentence. The harsh contact from his fist made me stumbled back. Okay, fair; I probably deserved that. I held my fists closer and glared at him. A smile spread on my face as I spat out blood.
This is going to be fun.
Five skillfully attacked me, not breaking a sweat. Meanwhile, I was having trouble dodging and defending. He teleported every time he struck me, making it difficult for me to even land a hit. My mind raced with counterattacks, trying to memorize his attack patterns. But there were no flaws in his blows.
Shit, how the fuck am I supposed to defeat the best temporal assassin?
I was playing defense, not wanting to cause any severe damage, but he wasn't hesitating. Though, I could tell Five was trying to resist; the white in his eyes flickered, showing his green ones before they got fogged again.
