Every few years, I move to a new town. I typically spend two to three years in a place and if I don't have the dreams, I leave. I have lived in many places, in various housing. I've never had much, but I didn't know how much I would have to move either, so I've never accumulated a whole lot.

Most women don't, that is, until they find their soulmate. This has been the way of my people for eons. The women move around, searching. The men, however, lead fairly normal lives. They have, long ago, lost the ability to have the dreams and no longer retain the memories of their soulmate. It's not until the reunited couple have fully taken each other in the act of love that these memories are returned.
