I wish I could just tell him. I can't force him to be with me, we can't do that either. We don't force our soulmates to be with us against their will. I have only been through one life without my Tobias. I found him too late. He had already married, and I couldn't bring myself to get in between them. He's my soulmate, yes, but I could never do that to him. He was happy. I wouldn't have ruined that. It was absolute hell for me, but I was still glad he was happy.

I arrived at my door with no memory of the walk. I opened it, walked in, locked it again and went straight to bed. I didn't care what time it was. I was drained.

"Ky ri e e... where are you?"

I bolt up, take a deep breath and sigh.

'Oh, Tobias, how I miss you.'

The dreams were almost nightly. He and I together, living our life, then flashes of my life without him again. A dream inside a nightmare. I've been absolutely wracking my brain for ways to bump into him again. Maybe I need to check out other shops around the bookstore. Maybe he lives close by.

I get up, get dressed and head out to the coffee shop for some breakfast. I order my meal and coffee, find a quiet table and wait for my order.

"Here you go." says the barista as she sets down my items.

"Thanks." I reply with a sleepy smile.

I take a bite of my bagel and begin to sip my coffee. I look out the window into the beautiful yellow-orange sunrise, admiring the scenery.

"Hey." I hear, nearly jumping out of my skin and actually spilling my coffee.

"Ow, shit." I mutter to myself.

"Oh, fuck. I'm so sorry." I hear the voice say, seeing hands appear with napkins to help clean up the mess.

I finally look up at whoever had scared living daylights out of me and freeze.

'It's him!'

"Uh, sorry," he says again, smiling a little.

"I didn't mean to scare you. Are you okay?" he asks, noticing my deer in the headlights look.

"Uh, yeah," I stammer, "you just startled me is all." My cheeks reddening with embarrassment. Shifting my attention back to cleaning up my spilled coffee.

"I just saw you sitting here and wanted to come say hi. Please let me buy you another drink." he says.

"No, that's okay. I couldn't possibly..." He cuts me off.

"No, really. I insist. I caused the loss of this one. Please, allow me to replace it?" he asked, apology written all over his face. My heart melts.

"Uh, are you sure?" I don't want to put you out of your way over some coffee." I reply, trying to make it sound like not a big deal.

"Yes, I'm sure. Really, I insist." He smiles and I melt again.

"Um, okay then." I agree.

"Okay, great." he beams, and turns to go order the drink. He gets a couple steps away and turns around.

"Right. I forgot to ask," he chuckles, "what did you have?"

"Oh yeah," I had forgotten too, "I had a mocha cappuccino." a small smile on my lips.

"Great." he turns back to the counter and orders my drink along with his items. I see him grab our things and he returns to the table.

"Here we are," he says as he sets down the coffees and his food.
