OLIVIA FEELS A RUSH OF RELIEF AS SOON AS THE WORDS "THE SURGERY WAS SUCCESSFUL." leave Anastasia's mouth, "we're waiting for him to wake up on his own, we'll keep a close eye on him, make sure he doesn't get any infection, he's in the SICU."

"Can we see him?" Liv asks her, with hope filled eyes.

"One at a time." Anastasia informs her, and Lori stares at Anastasia before thanking her, and hugging her. Anastasia smiles and accepting Lori, the past was in the past between the two women. They had each moved, started their own family, Shane was still not used to Lori accepting his sister. The Grimes children weren't exactly sure about the messy past of Lori, Rick, and Anastasia. They had known Anastasia had grown up with their father, being Shane's younger sister, and a year and a half year younger than Shane and Rick. Their grandfather and aunt Maggie did tell them that Rick and Anastasia did date before she left their small town. "I can take you to him." Anastasia tells Lori who nods, "we actually have another waiting for you guys, come on." Anastasia tells the Grimes family.

Derek had insisted on Peyton, Brooke, Nate, Tom, and Vero leaving, everyone did go but Veronica. She stayed, and he gave up. Junior seemed to be doing better with her here, but Liv seemed to grow irritated with her friends around. She didn't mind Veronica as she tended to her brother. And Liv knows he rarely ever lets himself be vulnerable in front of Carl, he and her, he keeps it together as the oldest of the three.

ONE BY ONE, THEY WENT IN, CARL WAS THE EXCEPTION, HE HAD GONE IN WITH DEREK, he cried when he saw his fathers stated, hooked up to machines.

Lori felt her heart break, seeing her husband in such a state. The fight didn't matter, and it didn't help when Anastasia told her of the complications during the surgeries. She didn't want to say anything in front of Carl earlier. But now Anastasia had informed her of the complications, and Lori cried in her arms.

"I told him that he didn't love me." Lori cries out.

"He does Lori, he does." Anastasia tells her. "You both know it." Anastasia felt like she wanted to cry, but she needed to remain professional. "He's strong, we have to think positive, believe he'll wake up. Hell even pray that he wakes up." Rick had grown up going to church every Sunday, Anastasia praying would be something big, she didn't grow up religious. Shane and her weren't raised by a religious mother, her mom thought those were cults, just not her mlm schemes. The irony of it all, Anastasia and Shane often found the humour of it all.

To Lori it all made sense why Rick was in the SICU now. Him needing assistance breathing, and he lost a lot of blood, Rick almost dying during the operation. Junior and Liv saw their mother hugging Anastasia, and Anastasia seemed to be comforting her, and the two women seemed to have a heartfelt conversation, their mother crying and Ana with tear filled eyes.

"Somethings wrong." Liv voices softly.

"Everything is wrong Liv." Junior says in a soft tone.

"He's gonna be okay." She tells him, not knowing if she just convincing him, or her, or both of them.
