Phil's POV
We were on a trip and I was very tired after having to repair the car, I was sitting in the back seat together with Ellie, at one point I fell asleep
--- Time Skip ---
At some point I woke up, I didn't really know how much I had slept, I could only notice Ellie leaning on my shoulder sleeping
"Joel, do you want me to take over driving?" I asked
"No thanks, you've already done a lot by repairing the engine, plus I wouldn't want you to wake Ellie up." He answered
"Okay, whatever" I said
"Joel, don't you also find her adorable when she's asleep?" I added
"Someone here has feelings" Joel replied, chuckling
"What?- Me?- No- Ah, never mind-" I said
I looked at Ellie and noticed that she was smiling, despite being asleep
'I think she heard everything,' I thought, then picked up my journal and began to draw
After about 10 minutes I was finished, it was just a sketch, but it seemed to come out well. I had drawn a simple landscape, more or less similar to what I saw every day when Ellie and I were lost
"Did you do that?" Said Elie as she woke up, or maybe she was already awake
"Yes, how does it look?"
"Not bad, it looks well made"
"Thank you" I replied closing the journal and putting it back inside my backpack
Ellie stood up and rubbed her eyes, trying to wake up properly
"Look who's back among us" Joel said
"Ha ha Joel, really funny" Ellie replied
She reached into her backpack and took out some kind of comic book called "Savage Starlight"
"Where did you find that?" I asked
"From Bill, he had a lot of them"
"But didn't he tell you not to touch anything?"
"Well yeah, but what the fuck do I care, he won't notice"
We both laughed, then she began to read it
--- Time Skip ---
Joel slammed on the brakes, Ellie and I were pushed forward
"What the fuck is going on?" Ellie asked, not understanding anything
"Joel who the fuck is that?" I said, seeing a man in front of us asking for a ride
"I have no idea" He replied
"Maybe he needs help" Ellie said
I turned to her
"Put your seatbelt on"
"Okay, but why?"
"Just do it" I replied and then added
"Joel, go with the gas, don't trust it"
"You're right" Joel replied and went for the gas
The man moved and started shooting at us, then a bus hit our car and we drove into an old store
"Fuck! Are you guys okay?" Joel asked
"Say, what do we do now?" I answered
"Quick, out of the car!"
