Phil's POV

We went out and Bill told us about a car that was supposed to be near a school, so we went there

We arrived at what was a school, there were several infected all around, it took us a good half hour to take them all out, one by one. Bill and Joel started talking to each other, so I looked around and then touched Ellie's arm

"Look, a garage!" I said, pointing with my finger

"Yeah, that's what it looks like" She replied

"Joel, there is a garage over there, maybe the car is there"

"Probably, let's take a look" Joel replied

We approached and entered the garage, and indeed there was a car inside

"Bingo!" Said Bill

Joel and Bill went around the car, while I opened the hood to see if the engine was in good condition, Ellie stayed close to me

"So, let's see what we have" I said opening the engine hood

"The engine is there, I think it works" Ellie said

"True, but the battery cables are damaged"

"So what do we do?" Ellie asked

"Do you have any duct tape?"

"Yes, but I doubt you can fix them with tape"

"Trust me" I replied

Bill and Joel watched in amazement at how I could know such things, but I didn't pay much attention; my goal was to get that car started at all costs

"Okay, stand back" I said, disconnecting the battery

I disconnected the first cable and all was well, as I touched the second one, it gave me a little jolt

"Son of a bitch!" I exclaimed

"Phil!" Ellie got a fright and stretched her arm toward me, but Joel stopped her

"Stop!"

Ellie turned towards Joel

"Why? I just wanted to check that you were okay!"

"I know, but you would have gotten the shock too" I replied

"See, he's fine!" Said Joel

I managed to disconnect the second cable as well, notwithstanding the initial small shock

"Ellie will you pass me the tape?"

"Okay, here you go"

I was wrapping the cables with tape, but I wanted to check the whole engine better, and it could take a while

"Guys, this is going to take a while, so why don't you go around the garage and find something useful?" I asked Bill and Joel

"Okay, whatever you need, give us a call" Joel replied

"Ellie are you coming with us?" Joel asked

"No, I'm staying here, they might need help" He replied

"Okay but don't bother him" Joel said

"Don't worry, she will be my help-mechanic" I said, making Ellie giggle

"Alright, see you later" Joel replied and walked away

I had finished putting tape on the cables

"Okay, now I have to reconnect them, stand back a little"

"All right"
