A mother lightly pushes her daughter forward, the man before them more than intimidating.
"Come now, child. You want a quirk, yes? To feel stronger? To protect whomever you wish?" The man's voice sounded trustworthy, but his face betrayed the words.
Her eyes study him, hands fidgeting from anxiety. She took a breath before looking back up at her mom. She looked for a sign to leave, any sign at all. She doesn't like this.
"Go on, (Y/n), he's promised to help us. To help you reach your dreams." Her mom bent down right beside her. She truly believed this man would do right by them.
How wrong she'd be.
"Good. Now as I bestow this power onto you, little one, you have a debt. You mustn't worry, however. I won't be collecting until I absolutely need to." He warned, a large hand laying on top of the girl's head.

"Are you deaf or something?" He speaks again as Y/n stares up with half-lidded eyes. "I said, 'Get up'!"
She shook her head, unable to move from the trance of the water. The pattern was pretty, practically impossible to look away from.
The way the waves moved in such harmony, none intersecting the other, all following their own paths. It was enamoring.
The voice belonged to a blond boy, his arms crossed as he stared down at her against the pebbles. He watched for a moment before making a 'tch' sound.
"What's so cool about it anyway? It's just some water moving down a stupid stream." The boy watched the water drifting past. He pouted at how she sat and watched with no care in the world.
"It reminds me that even if there's nothing there-" She spoke up, fingers dipping into the water. "-everything moves forward in its own way." She turned toward the boy, giving him a small smile.
He looks down at the water with a confused expression, vermillion eyes searching it. He huffed and crossed his arms before she held out a hand.
"I'm Himiko. (Y/n) Himiko." She smiled brightly, and he looked at her still puzzled.
"Bakugo." He looks at her hand and takes it before scrunching his nose at the cold feeling.
"EW!" He squeaks, shaking his hand in the air. "Your hand is so cold!" He whines, wiping the water against his shorts.
"It's just water." She said, a giggle leaving her. He sucked his teeth at her again before smirking.
