I stare dumbfounded at the scoreboard for the third time. I placed second by one point.
One single point.
Letting All Might continue, I spin around in the chair. Forcing a laugh, I walk to the bathroom for a much-needed shower.
"(Y/n), Honey? Be careful in there, I just cleaned the floor." Mom yells from the kitchen, knife hitting the cutting board swiftly as she cuts vegetables.
"Got it," I reply, not in a talkative mood.
Once inside the bathroom, I glance at my reflection in the mirror. She stares back at me, fingers trailing under her eyes at the dark circles appearing. A frown starts at the corners of my lips.
My quirk, Static Shock, burns against my skin when overused. Usually, a generous amount of foundation is there to cover it, but I forgot it today.
Turning my head, I see the skin changing color at the base of my neck, the once (S/C) now dark tan. It was from my static getting too hot.
"Don't take too long, alright? I'm making your favorite!" Mom calls from the kitchen again, voice muffled from the door.
Sighing, I decided to train instead.
"I'm going to train for a little while, let me know when dinner is almost done." I give Mom a soft hug on the way to the fridge. She nods as I grab a water bottle and go into my room to change clothes.
Rummaging through the closet with one hand, I find a tank top and some shorts. Afterward, I put on a pair of sneakers and headed outside to train.
I spent an hour in the backyard, sweat dripping off of me as I generally exercised, then worked on the impact of my quirk.
"(Y/n)! Dinner's ready!" Mom yells through the music in my headphones and I take a long breath.
"Okay! Coming!" I grab my empty water bottle and head inside.

After dinner, I notice my phone has some unread messages.
Unknown: Good job on the exam!
-I saw you were second in the placement! That's amazing!Me: um.. who is this?
I stare at the bright screen, then the person starts typing.
Unknown: Oh sorry! It's Midoriya!
-I forgot you've never texted me before.Me: oh.
I reread the congrats text about the exam, and an eyebrow raised.
'How did he even get my number?' I think, blinking as I realize I left the conversation pretty short. Thinking and typing different questions, I settle for this.
Me: Did you need something?Unknown: I wanted to ask if you'd like to train with me sometime.
-It's totally fine if you don't want to!
