“Wait but who’s conducting the party?” Law tried asking Nami, but she was long gone before Law’s question could be answered. Law sighed, and then realized that his question was pretty irrelevant. Did it really matter who the host was?

Camie tapped Law’s shoulder from behind and smiled at Law. Instead of returning the gesture, Law just raised his eyebrows.

“Umm, the person who's conducting the party is the son of the owner of this hospital.” Camie informed Law.

“Dragon has a son?” Law wondered.

“Yeah. And Nami is one of his close friends.” Camie answered.

“Surprising, but good to know.” Law said, without a sign of gratitude for being answered. But that wasn’t rude either. Law wasn’t expressive, or apologetic. It was just his nature.

Law decided to bring his friends along. Law didn’t want to be the only unfamiliar one among the group of cronies. He’d rather have his so-called friends drag along with him in an attempt to reduce social awkwardness and social anxiety.

He headed towards the operation theater, to perform his first surgery in his new workplace.

-------

Days passed, and things at East Blue Hospital weren't as bad as Law expected. Law's job and reputation weren't at stake, and that is all he cared for. But everything has a drawback. And that's what applied to the company Law worked at.

What irritated Law was being told about the different mysterious tales and mischiefs of Dragon's son.

Every now and then, he would be told about the tantrums Dragon's son, Luffy would create.

He had heard that he was still in college, but he would make full use of being the owner's son. Once, he even pretended to be a doctor, and escaped performing 3 major surgeries!

He was caught, but escaped any sort of suspension. This made Law twitch, people were supposed to be treated as equals. But he has also heard of various heroic deeds of the young guy.

Tama, a young 5 year old girl, was being taken care of by Luffy. She lost her parents in a car accident. Luffy took sympathy for the little girl, and took her in.

This was one thing that increased Law's curiosity. He found it pretty interesting, because Law too had lost his biological parents in a car accident, and was adopted by Corazon.

He acknowledged how brave it is to be a father figure to someone out of kindness. Luffy was kind….but still annoying.

He wasn't interested in what Luffy did or didn't. But he was being fed by Luffy's updates through the gossiping mouths of Bonney, his assistant doctor. She was one hell of a woman, who would never shut up, when it came to rumors. Adding fuel to the fire was Nami, Bonney's friend, and Luffy's close friend.

Finally the day of Christmas arrived. Although Law would never admit it, Christmas was his favorite day of the year.

Law was a kind of person who sought the deepest meaning in the simplest of things. The way little children would desperately wait for Santa to visit their houses and give them their presents, depicted how a person should never give up hope, if they truly want to achieve something.

Besides, Corazon would always buy him stuff when he was a kid, and would bake him cookies.

Law thinks of all of this, while driving him and his friends to the Christmas party Dragon and his friends held. He was a little nervous, since even Dragon would be there. He had to try his best not to mess up anything around him, otherwise that would mean messing up with his career.

Before heading, Law warned his friends to "behave". Even though they weren't chronologically kids, biologically, they were.

When they arrived at Dragon's mansion, the gates opened, and Law and his friends were warmly welcomed by Nami, and then Dragon too. Law even shook hands with him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you sir." Law tried to make a good impression on Dragon.

"Me too, Dr. Trafalgar. You are doing a great job so far. I'm really happy with your dedication and work. Continue doing this, and you'll prosper." Dragon complimented. Law felt a surge of accomplishment engulf him, and he beamed with pride.

After entering the mansion, Law and his friends were greeted by loud music and a huge crowd vibing.

Bonney was the first one to drag Law deeper into the crowd.

As she was dragging Law, she called out to someone, yelling, because of the loud music.

"LUFFY!!!!!GET YOUR ASS HERE!!!!! HERE'S THE NEWBIE I WAS TALKING about." Bonney yelled. Law rolled his eyes on being called a "newbie".

That's when a short young boy, not more than 20 years, with striking black hair, and a beautiful scar under his left eye, approached Bonney and Law. It was Luffy.

As soon as Luffy and Law saw each other, a rush of emotions flowed within them, as if it was a 1000 volts and without even thinking twice about what they wanna do, they bumped into each other, and crashed their lips together.

Law's long fingers clutched Luffy's silky black hair, and Luffy's arms were wrapped around Law's neck. Their kiss was initially soft, but slowly grew passionate.

The music stopped and everybody froze. Not a single soul moved. Ussop, the one handling the DJ, was too shocked to do anything. The dragon's jaw crashed to the ground. Zoro and Sanji, who were making out, had their eyes wide open.

Nami and Bonney on the other hand were busy taking pictures.

The kiss would have practically lasted forever, if Dragon hadn't dragged Law from eating Luffy.

"HOW DARE YOU!!!!!! HOW DARE YOU TOUCH LUFFY!!!!!!" Dragon yelled, grabbing Law by the collar. Poor Law was so shaken that he still couldn't process what was going on.

Luffy on the other hand, fell down on the ground. His head was hung down, thinking about what had just happened. Something which he absolutely didn't want happened.

Tama, who had witnessed everything, started singing.

"Luffy found his soulmate~ Luffy found his soulmate~ Yay yay YAY!!!!"

This was seriously the WORST DAY EVER.
