The attraction had never been this strong. There had never even been any attraction. 

Well... not much of it anyway. 

Was it the way he didn't have to hold back his feelings or thoughts? Was it the hair that always curled at Luffy's neck? Was it the fact that everytime Luffy smiled or even looked at Law, it would leave him flushed?

Whatever it was, it was different than it had ever been. 

Sure, Luffy had always had attractive qualities. He couldn't be any more Law's type. But he'd never had feelings like this towards Luffy. Towards anyone.

Having a good night was impossible not to do when he was with Luffy. Luffy had a personality that just drew people to him, and Law was no different. 

"So, how are you liking our hospital?" Luffy said as he kicked the sand piled at his foot into the ocean. 

"Uhm," Law blushed as Luffy looked up at him, waiting for his answer. "It's pretty good, all the other doctors are friendly and I have a lot of work each day."

Hearing this, Luffy smiled, "That's good, I was hoping they weren't giving you special treatment just because you're my soulmate."

"Actually," Law smirked, "I lied. I could handle some more. I've been pretty bored most of the day.  I'd say that was your fathers doing, he's been giving me too little work, it's probably because he likes me so much." 

Luffy smirked in return to Law's remark, "You're right. He told me before I went on this date that you have his blessing to propose." Hearing this, Law began to laugh. His laughter was contagious as Luffy also started laughing, holding his stomach. 

"But," Law took a heavy intake of breath before continuing, "We just started going out, why would I already be proposing?" He had trouble getting his sentence out, as he was still full-heartedly laughing at Luffy's words. 

"I'm not entirely sure, but you are definitely right that he likes you," Luffy sighed as he calmed his breathing. 

Suddenly he laid down on the ground, getting covered in sand. "What are you doing?" Law asked, looking down at Luffy with a raised eyebrow. 

"Watching the stars," Luffy replied, bringing his hand up to point at a particularly bright star. Law sighed, but layed next to Luffy, looking up, and searching for constellations. 

"This is the most fun I've had in like forever," Law whispered as he turned to look at Luffy.

"I can't agree because my life is pretty awesome, but it's definitely up there," Luffy looked at Law with a twinkle in his eye.

Law smirked, "Did you know I could speak french?" Luffy gasped as he snapped his gaze to Law. 

"No way! Tell me something in French," Luffy demanded. 

Law's smile fell as he contemplated what to say. He hesitantly said, "Je ne pensais pas tomber si vite." 

Luffy's eyes widened in amazement as he asked, "What did you say?!"

Law smirked, "That's only for me to know," Law turned his gaze back to the sky as he placed his hands under his head. 

"What!!?" Luffy frowned as he sat up in a crossed legged position, "You have to tell me now!". 

"Your fault you don't speak French," Law glanced at Luffy briefly before his eyes lingered back to the stars. 

Luffy huffed, "Whatever, you work for my dad anyway," turning away from Law as he pouted. 

"What is that supposed to mean?" Law chuckled, looking at Luffy's childish expression. He couldn't believe Luffy had a daughter. 

"I could ask him to give you no work until you tell me what you said," Luffy looked at Law with a smirk. 

Law looked Luffy up and down as he blushed. 'He's so cute when he's determined,' Law blushed at his thoughts. 

Law smirked, "Maybe we should ask him, see who he'll listen to. You ask him to give me no work, I'll ask for more work. If you win, I'll think about proposing. If I win, you choose." 

Law held out his hand, as if striking a deal in a business exchange. 'If I win, I might still be thinking about proposing' Law let out a chuckle and a blush at his thought. 

Luffy smirked as he shuffled closer to Law. "If you win, I'll give you a free kiss." Law knew Luffy was just joking but he couldn't help but think about it. 

They shook hands, solidifying the deal. "So, do you wanna come back to my place?" Law asked, smirking. 

Hearing this, Luffy's eyes widened. "W-What?" Luffy laughed nervously. Law burst into laughter as he noticed the context of his words. 

"I mean, to sleep. I live two minutes away, and we could just walk instead of spending money on a cab," Law turned as he pointed to the direction of his apartment. 

"Oh," Luffy blushed at what he had been previously thinking, "I thought... you were.. Uhm. Yeah! Let's go." Luffy stood and brushed sand off his clothes. 

Law stood. "No, it's only natural to think that. I should have thought before I said that. Sorry." 

Luffy blushed as he looked away from Law. "I should tell my dad 'Tama has to stay with him for the night." Luffy avoided Law's gaze as he got out his phone and typed away to his father. 

Law waited patiently for Luffy as he was amused at Luffy's embarrassment. He studied Luffy's features, as he had been doing most of the night, as he noticed every detail of Luffy's face. 

He had noticed that there were a number of scars and bruises across Luffy's arms. It had probably been because he was such an energetic fireball. 

Law recalled everything that happened previously that night. 

Corazon had not stopped texting and calling him about looking perfect and how he wanted to meet Luffy the day after their date. 

Bepo, Ikkaku, and the idiot came over and wouldn't stop fussing with his outfit. Ikkaku kept crying, saying this was her dream come true. 

The dumb twins wouldn't leave the kitchen. Law had been worried they would set it on fire. The other idiot had been cleaning his house, for whatever reason. 

Law got a cab to the restaurant and sat at the reserved table. Luffy had been late, but he still looked the best Law had ever seen him. 

They talked about everything, from Luffy's daughter to Law's Job to pineapple on pizza. Law couldn't wrap his head around it. 

'Why would he eat pineapple on pizza?' Law had thought as Luffy told him how good it was. 

And then everything that had happened on the beach. 

What he had said was true, this was the most fun he'd had in his life. 

Finally, he thought about this moment. Him and Luffy walking to his apartment.
