At one point, it had crossed Law's mind.
Having Dragon and Corazon in the same room was maybe not the best idea?
Especially not when Law and Luffy's friends were there as well.
Also when Law and Luffy were soulmates and everyone was super excited for them.
Law would have made a comment about how they were not engaged or anything. But, that would bring up the topic of marriage. That would never fade, considering the people that were in the room.
Being forced to sit next to your soulmate in your own house on the couch as your friends, father, Luffy's friends, and his father take pictures of you and coo over how cute you are together was not a pleasant experience for Law.
Dragon and Corazon talked about Law proposing (so much for not bringing up the marriage topic). Zoro and Sanji (Law had learned their names after Nami had repeatedly yelled at them to shut up) were yelling about moss heads and curly brows?
Nami and Usopp had cheeky grins as they snapped picture after picture of Law and Luffy just sitting next to each other.
Robin sat on the armchair next to Law as Chopper sat on her lap, eating cookies and ranting to her about doctor stuff he'd learned from his grandmother.
Bepo and the idiots were in the kitchen, raiding Law's cupboard and fridge. Ikkaku was snapping away pics of Luffy and Law as she eavesdropped on Dragon and Corazon's conversation.
(I love Ikkaku but...)
Live footage of Ikkaku eavesdropping:
"Uhm," Law said as all the maniacs looked at him, "Can I get food?"
Nami scowled as she and Dragon shared a look. She rolled her eyes before nodding her head.
Law pushed past Zoro and Sanji as he noticed the idiots and Bepo had vacated the kitchen. He looked out the window to see they were stomping on his flowers as they ran around playing tag.
Law grabbed a wine glass as he filled it halfway before taking a large gulp. "You got anything stronger?"
Law turned to see Luffy. He also noticed five heads in the doorway, each with a camera, to capture Law and Luffy's interaction.
Law sighed as he grabbed Luffy a glass and opened the cupboard to show Luffy the options.
Luffy picked something his father had given him.
"So, do you wanna ditch?" Luffy whispered as he took small sips of his drink.
Law almost choked on his drink. "W-What?" Law glanced back at the others as they stared intently at the interaction.
"Maybe if we're fast enough, we could get an uber and go to my house," Luffy smirked, "'Tama is with a sitter right now, you could finally meet her."
Law thought about it. He had never met Luffy's daughter.
"Could you make it past the idiots outside?" Law asked.
"Of course," Luffy already had his phone out, "The uber will be here in five minutes."
Law smirked as he turned to the people in the doorway. "We're gonna go outside to smell the roses," Law pushed off the counter as he headed towards the door.
Law heard the clink of Luffy's glass as he set it on the counter before he followed after Law.
They shared a matching smirk and gaze as the others snapped away their cameras at them.
Law made it outside, pushing past the idiots. He went to his flowers, and patted the dirt. Shachi and Penguin had messed up the flower beds when they were fighting.
He looked over and was surprised to see Luffy helping him.
Suddenly, Law felt the overwhelming urge to kiss Luffy.
Law wasn't one to give into his urges or do things he wasn't sure about. But he was ready to take a chance.
It wasn't the first time he had kissed Luffy but it had been way better than the first time.
There were no strobing lights. No music to hurt his ears. No audible gasps. No daughters to yell about Luffy getting his soulmate. And best of all, no one had pulled him away.
He was perfectly fine staying in the moment as there were cameras clicking and his idiot friends laughed.
He smelled Luffy and the roses his friends had stomped on.
He could feel Luffy's smirk as he finally pulled away. Luffy grabbed his arm as he stood and ran.
Law was pulled with Luffy as he noticed they were headed to a car parked at the curb.
Luffy hurriedly opened the door as he rushed into the car. Law closed the door as soon as he was all the way in the car.
Luffy quickly told the driver the address as Law looked out the window. Dragon and Carazon were scowling as they talked.
Ikkaku ran up to the car, trying to get more content. Law smiled, as he held up his and Luffy's interlocked hands for Ikkaku to see.
Ikkaku smiled and gave him a thumbs up before they drove off.
Ikkaku watched as the car drove into the distance with a smile on her face.
"We have to finally let them go," Nami said as she walked up behind Ikkaku.
She turned, seeing that everyone else was looking in the same direction she had been.
"I guess they should do some things on their own," Ikkaku turned back, thinking about how different her friend had been.
>With Law and Luffy<
Law smiled as he thought back to his friends. He looked down at his and Luffy's intertwined hands.
He was excited to meet Luffy's daughter but he was also nervous.
What if she didn't like him? What if she hated him? What if she thought he was weird? What if she thought he wasn't good enough for Luffy?
Law knew that Otama was a nice girl but he couldn't help it as his mind ran with worry.
He guessed that his worry showed on his face, as Luffy was now looking at him with worry on his face.
"What's wrong?"
Law sighed. It wouldn't hurt to tell Luffy what he was thinking. "I was wondering. What if Otama doesn't like me?"
Luffy's face changed to humor as he started laughing at Law.
At the sound of Luffy's laugh, all Law's worries about Otama just washed away.
Suddenly, he felt the urge to kiss Luffy again. He couldn't help but give into the urge again.
He kissed Luffy as their hands were still intertwined.
