Chapter 21 - Please Stay

"Are you guys crazy? I have been out of practice for around four decades and you want me to inject bacteriophage to my husband?" Mrs. Min asked with disbelieved look her face... Y/n kneeled in front of her and held her slightly wrinkled hands in her/his own... "Aunty... You might be out of practice but you were the number one diagnostician of your time... You are the one who inspired me, Namjoon, Hoseok and many others to become diagnosticians... We could have done it but YOU know exactly what to do... You have done it BEFORE... Please Mom" Mrs. Min's eyes shimmer with tears...

Y/n called her 'Mom'... This is such a bittersweet moment for her... She have been dying to hear Y/n call her mom but she never thought the word will come out of her/his mouth in such situation where her husband is fighting for his life and grandchildren are kidnapped by her own son... She don't know how to react but she knows exactly what she have to do... Mrs. Min stood up and said

"I will do it"

Yoongi asked kids to go with a police officer and he ran into the building along with the other police officers... the place was bleak, cold and completely dark... It was quiet and somber in there and Yoongi felt a chill as the darkness engulfed him... It was the most piercing darkness ever-it was not merely the darkness that came out of absence of light, it was much more sinister...

The pitch black atmosphere was impenetrable and Yoongi stood rooted to the spot, trying to stretch his eyes as wide as possible but hd could barely makeout a feeble outline of some distant object... There was nothing warm about that place... It smelled of something evil and the darkness was surreal... Cold and clammy... Yoongi tried to creep out but it was futile, he was neither in nor out-too terrified to move...

The darkness and quiet pressed into his ears and that's when he heard a loud scream from the second floor and he know that voice... Not caring on what he is stepping on or he is can trip... Yoongi ran upstairs but as soon as he saw two figures laying on the floor... Yoongi stood dead on his spot... His nightmare was coming true... His husband was laying there

Mrs. Min was now standing in the hospital room where Mr. Min was admitted... She held a syringe that contains C2 bacteriophage to fight Acinetobacter baumannii... "Yeobo... What are you doing here?" Mr. Min was confused with the sudden presence of Mrs. Min in doctor's coat and syringe in her right hand...

She explained Mr. Min everything and her purpose of being there... All this while Mr. Min had a faint smile on chapped lips... His physical state wasn't good... He looked pale and weaker than ever before... Mrs. Min heart clenched at the sight... But she controled her emotions and by her clearing throat... "I am going to inject with the phage now and MR. MIN I want you to fight it... You got me?" The said person chuckled and nodded his head "Yes, dr. Yun"

Y/n and Mrs. Min were monitoring Mr. Min for a couple of hours until he slips into unconsciousness... Y/n's eyebrows twitched "he is unresponsive" Mrs. Min nodded "I was expecting this... His encephalitis is getting worst... And we have to run few tests"

(Inflammation of the brain, often due to infection... The infection may be bacterial or viral. In some cases, encephalitis may be the result of an immune system disorder...)

"That means phage is winning?" Y/n asked and Mrs. Min hummed "Yeah, but from here things will get dangerous... I have to carefully monitor him overnight..." Y/n came closer to Mrs. Min... She/he was concerned as Mrs. Min's face was full of worry... "He will make it Mom" Mrs. Min gave her/him a big smile and nodded her head but soon it got replaced with a mischievous grin "you mean Dr. Yun, right?"
