(2K SPECIAL) in love with the impossible. (eulamber)

every single day, all i want to do is dance with her. amber is the one person who makes my world shine. I was young, as she was too. similar but distant pasts. i wonder every day, how did I find a girl like her? shes the only reason i stick with the favonious. every mission, every research party, every hangout, i'm with her. if only she were aware, that i want more than just friendship.

"lala!!" - a name she calls me.
"oh, amby.." - a name she gave me to call her.
"lala what are you doing here? i thought you only came to the library once every month, this is your second time."
"oh uh, lisa requested I help organize books on mu off time."
"well are you almost done?! i miss you, and i wanna go out on a walk! i have something to show you!!"

we tend to surprise each other. amber would always try her hardest to find me, if i'm too hard to find i'm busy doing work. she says I need to free myself from so much work, but i told her its not right. part of the rule book is to always finish your work. I am a knight, after all.

"alright then, i'll put down my work."

amber takes my hand as im putting my book down and pulls me away from the desk. whenever she gets excited she gets a bit rough, which i dont mind. we rush out of the favonius headquarter doors and down a flight of stairs to the town centre. amber tells me to sit down and wait on the fountain rim. as I sit down I watch her run all over the place trying to gather what seems like food and drinks with supplies. She stops swiftly at my feet.

"alright, im ready! cmon, eula!"

We leave mondstadt city and start our journey to starsnatcher point. amber sets down. a blanket with a basket of fruits and cheese

"sit down sit down, the show is about to start"

"amber what is this? was this plan to hang out?"

"oh, hangout.. I guess you could call it that.."

I heard disappointment from her voice. Did she mean to do that? Other than a hangout what could she mean? I mean, the only other thing could be-

"You know eula, have you ever thought about our friendship?"

"What do you mean? Of course I have. I mean we-"

"Thats not what I meant."

Ambers head bows down, what could she mean? Shes been acting weird all day. She never plans something without telling me, she never takes me out anywhere except for inside the city, and she never asks questions like this. Not only that but I barely even know what were doing.

"Eula..."

"Amber I-"

"I love you."

"-m sorry if i, wait, what?"

What? Did she just say?... Amber, the person who was my first friend, amber, the energetic bunny, amber, the uninterested in anything sad, amber, the ANTI ROMANTIC, just say she loves... me? Me? What? But, ive done nothing for her...

"You love me?"

The stars in the night sky fly past us. Shooting stars with multiple colours above our heads

"I do.."

I'm.

"Amber.. I-"

Speechless.

I..

I look at amber with tears in my eyes. I look at her fair skin. She's so beautiful. So beautiful that its not real.

Not real?

No, none of this was real.

I close my eyes and rub them, and open them again. I told you. It's not real. I stare at the stick in the ground with Amber's ribbon tied to it and callalillies placed by her.

"I love you too, amber."

I stand up and look at her one last time, a flashback to when we sat here long ago reoccurring.

"I'm sorry."
