Chapter Twenty-Two

Next Race was Belgium, I was more than ready. Lando was supposed to come in four days, that would be the race in Greece, where my birthday party was also being held.

Kai and I had arranged a rave party with glowing paint, glowing everything. Turning 21 was a big deal, or so Kai claimed, I knew it was an excuse for partying hard.

But nevertheless, we hosted the party and I invited every rally driver on the grid. Every Formula 1 driver on the grid. All our friends and Victoria too.

I finished P1 in the Belgium race, I celebrated and went back to the garage with the car and got out.

I take off my helmet and Kai is smiling like a proud dad. He nods behind me and I raise an eyebrow. I turn around and see Lando there.

My jaw drops and I hurriedly run to him and jump, Lando holds me and I wrap my legs around his waist and squeal in happiness.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him as I pull back a little. "Surprise. I came earlier" Lando said and I smiled. I had to stop myself from kissing him in front of everyone.

Lando put me back down and I smiled. "Follow me" I say and he nods, I hand my helmet to Kai who smirks as I open my door to the room I got.

I close the door after Lando and immediately he crash his lips on mine. I kiss him back hungrily.

"Ah, Ah, Ahh. You two better keep it down in there. The chiropractor will be there in two minutes" Kai says from the other side of the door and we pull away.

I laugh and rest my arms on Lando's shoulders. "Fuck I missed you, how are you here now?" I ask and lean my sweaty forehead against his.

"We raced last night, finished P2, got podium" Lando says with a smile and mine grows bigger.

"I'm proud of you, you're really improving your skills" I say and kiss him again. His soft lips moves against mine, Lando unzips my suit and let the top of it fall down to my hips.

"Lando, we don't have that kind of time" I say and laugh. "Aww" Lando whines and pouts.

I kiss his pouty lip and he smiles before grabbing my face and kiss me again.

"I can't believe you came this early" I say between kisses.

"Anything for you, I told you that already" Lando says and I smile.

A knock on the door interrupts us, I breathe out relieved. I had started getting some back pains, in my old injured area.

"Come in" I say and my Chiropractor Christina walks in. She sets up the table and I strip off my suit and keep the fireproof one on.

"You can stay if you want" I tell Lando and he nods before sitting down. I unzip the top of my fireproof suit, I groan a bit as I turn my back to pull my arm out of the sleeve.

"Is it getting worse?" Christina asked as she heard me. I put the top by my hips and I still wore a sportsbra.

"Not much" I say and turn my back to Lando. "I'm just really sore by the scar" I say and stretch a bit.

I look over my shoulder and see Lando's eyes locked on my back. His eyes harden and his jaw clenches. "Are you okay?" I ask Lando and his eyes snaps to mine and his eyes soften.

"Of course" He says and I narrow my eyes and turn back to the table and lay on my stomach. He had seen my scar down my spine.

"Tell me where it hurts the most and I will work more on that area" Christina said and I nod and she started feeling around my back.

I groan and grip the table's edge as she press down on the tender spot. "You're hurting her" Lando says and gets up panicked.

"Lando, stop. She's helping me. It's okay. Come here" I say and hold my hand out for him to take. He eyes Christina suspeciously before crouching down in front of the table and go to eye level with me.

He takes my hand in his and intervene our fingers and I smile through the pain. "It's okay, I know I didn't tell you that the back pains have gotten worse. But it's okay, Christina here is helping me controlling it, it won't ever go away, but I can get better" I tell him and the sorrow in his eyes shows clearly.

"Does Max know?" Lando asks softly. I shake my head no and close my eyes at the sharp pain. I clear my throat. "There" I tell Christina.

"He doesn't and please don't tell him. It doesn't matter. He will get me thrown out of racing if he finds out. This is what I want to do" I say and Lando nods.

"Update me everyday on the pains, even if i'm not here" Lando says and I nod before bringing his hand to my lips. I kiss his knuckles and hold his hand to my face as I groan in pain.

"I need to begin, so you have to let go for a moment" Christina says and I take a deep breath and let go of Lando's hand. I nod reassuringly at him and he backs up and sit down.

Christina cracks my tight spots and massage my back extra.

Once she's done I take a shower and get dressed in fresh clothes. I get out of the shower and greet Lando once again. He catch my lips and I lean into his touch as he caress my cheeks.

"You are so strong, you know that?" Lando asks softly and I smile. "No, I don't know that" I say with a small smile. "You are" Lando says and lean his forehead against mine.

"You are the sweetest. Let's go to the hotel and relax" I say and pull him out with me. Lando laughs, but let me pull him out of the garage.

I high five the engineers and hug them on the way out. "Wait up! Guys! Wait!" Kai's voice echoes the parking lot filled with papparazzi.

We laugh and stop to wait for Kai. "Can I ride with you?" Kai asks out of breath.

"Sure, come on" I say and go the drivers side. "Shotgun!" Lando shouts and run to the passenger door and Kai curses at him. "Damnit!" Kai says and I laugh before getting into my Honda.

"I hate you Lando!" Kai shouts and Lando laughs as he throws himself into the seat next to me and Kai gets in the back. "Kids, calm down please" I say playfully and Lando glares me.

"I'm older than you" Lando retorts. "Yeah,  by two years, what you trying to say?" I taunt and laugh at his face before driving out of the parking lot.

We wave at the fans and laugh as they freak out over the fact that Lando was with us.

"Can I stay in your room?" Lando asks and I nod. "Of course" I say in a duh tone.

"Oh god" Kai groans rather loudly in the back.
