2 years later....

my birthday was right around the corner and i couldn't wait, everyone was flying in tonight, well
except jack obviously. it had been 2 years since we called it off and we hadn't really spoken since. yea i've watched all games to try to keep up with him, but we haven't had a real conversation. i probably would flip if i ever saw him around these times. i think about him everyday, but i just have to tell myself its better.

i pulled into the familiar airport and waited for my best friends, i hadn't seen any them since last year's birthday party. emma had moved up state for her job, cooper was always at hockey or training, ava had a job as a nurse now and could never get off, and cole and alex were obviously very focused on hockey like they always have been. i still talked to luke and quinn a little bit, but i didn't except them to come to my party.

"ellie" i heard the 5 of them yell as i jumped out of my car.

"eek god i missed you all so much" i yelled as i hugged all my friends.

"we brought a surprise along" alex said as they all moved out of the way and i saw quinn and luke walking towards me.

"oh my god, this is best day ever" i squealed.

"so ellie, i would like to give you this, you all are coming to my game tonight, happy birthday babe" quinn handed me his other jersey.

"quinny, i love you" i said as i hugged him.

"so we can get married now right" luke spoke up, i just hugged him and laughed. quinn had tried to get me with me after me and jack ended things, and so did luke, but i didn't let it affect our friendships with each other.

"happy birthday ellie" they sang as we piled into my car.

i threw on quinns jersey and some jeans and i walked out into the kitchen

"well is everyone ready" i yelled and grabbed a white claw.

"hell yaa" cooper yelled and we all walked out of the apartment. we walked into the arena and quinn had got us a suite deck thing, we walked up the stairs and walked into the suite.

"well dammmm" alex looked around in awe as if he had never been in one of these before. we all sat down and watched quinn and the others practice. quinn looked up at us a couple times like he was waiting or looking for something.

i heard the door open and assumed it was ava going to get her 5th white claw of the night. i just laughed until i heard cooper say something.

"jimmm" cooper yelled and i turned around to see ellen jim and jack.

"ah fuck" i turned around and mumbled to myself. i rubbed my head and realized that i needed to be the bigger person. so i stood up and walked over to jim and ellen.

"wow boys you all are still so ugly" jim said which made everyone laugh.

"you know jim, i think i'm pretty hot" cooper said and gave him a hug.

"well hello" jim said to me. i just hugged him and then gave ellen a hug.

"still wearing the hughes jersey, love it" ellen said and i smiled slightly. wishing deep down i was still wearing jacks. we all got some food and went to sit down, and of course the only spot was next to jack.
