Leaving bruises on all our plans

I tried every single word

Questioning if I was there
Did someone ever really care?
But you do not see
The past that was meant to be
The pain that I had set u free
When you would cry in pain
I'd hold you tight and keep you safe
I'd promise you that you cannot be replaced
I cherished every moment we had
The times where there were joy and sad
For the pain to fade, oh I'm so glad
Just wish that time didn't have to pass
For you to be beside me again
Even if things aren't exactly the same
I'm happy to see you're not in pain
For you have finally escaped
Wounded with scars so true
Even with time as we grew
