Special thanks to my girl BlakeB990 who by the way edited it to make it as readable as possible. Thank youuu, my Ravenclaw.
The day of the first task swiftly approached and before I knew it, the day has come that I think I'll die from being barbecued by a beast called dragon.
I stood at my side of the tent in deep thought. The other Champions scattered around doing Merlin knows what and minding their own business as well as I am. I can hear the noises of the crowd inside the tent as well as the chants for their respective champions even if the task haven't even started yet.
I heard rapid footsteps outside of the tent making me glance up to be met by my girlfriend who was looking at me with tears at the end of her eyes, a worried frown on her face. She flung herself into my embrace, fiercely hugging me with all her might. "Promise me that you'll be okay Lexa. That whatever happened out there, you will make sure you'll come back to me in one piece."
I hug her just as tight, kissing her forehead. "I promise, princess."
She sighed deeply, but hasn't let go of me yet and clutches on to my robe tight. A snapping of camera and a flash snapped us out of our bubble surprising Pansy and I. A writer from the daily profit, Skeeter looks at us with mischievous glint in her eyes, her camera man still flashing the camera on our faces. "Such a powerful couple you are. A pureblood Ravenclaw and a pureblood Slytherin." She feigned awe, her hand on her chest. "Issues of house difference can't keep you apart."
I restrained myself on rolling my eyes from her childishness. For all I know, she'll just write it again on the daily profit with more dramatic effects to get people's attention.
"As I said before, you have no business here. This tent is for Champions and friends." Krum roughly said to the woman who gave him a smile in return not at all offended before motioning her camera man to move aside as the Professors and Barty Crouch Sr. announced their presence in the tent.
"Good day Champions! Gather around please. Now you waited and wondered and at last the moment has arrived. The moment only the four of you can fully appreciate..." Dumbledore said with glee looking around at us with barely contained excitement and trailed off when he saw Granger on the side of Potter and Pansy beside me as well. "What are you doing here Miss Granger and Miss Parkinson?"
Granger awkwardly grimaced but my girl just held her head high, not at all intimidated. "Sorry I'll just, go." Granger trailed off before scurrying away.
"Barty, the bag." Professor Dumbledore ordered to which Mr. Crouch, not minding the stubborn girl beside me.
"Champions, circle around me."
Delacour was the first one to pick inside the bag that Mr. Crouch was holding. A tiny miniature of dragon wiggled around the palm of Delacour making me glance at it with awe of how tiny it looks.
"The Common Welsh Green." Crouch informed the girl before motioning Krum to pick one who was by the way side eyeing the girl in my arms. My posture went stiff at how I was restraining myself to throw a punch at his disgusting face. Ever since we were kids he made it a task to get everything that I have. He may be nowhere as bad as my grandfather, but he was close.
"Ms. Valerian, please pick one." Pansy nudge me on the side making me shake my head and placed my hand inside the bag. A tiny moving object met my hand, it clutch into my glove before I plucked it outside the bag. My eyes met a tiny blueish gray dragon snarling at my hold.
"Swedish Short-Snout." Crouch smirked at me causing me to tilt my head questioningly at the face that he made but before I could even ask, he made his way to Potter.
