A party at the Casita was always one of the best parties in town. And now that the miracle was saved and back. Lord knew there would be a big celebration for that. So it came to no surprise to anyone when bews of a party spred around town and before anyone could ask really more. The party was starting.
There was the typical table with different drinks. Some for the adults and some for the teenagers and each time one of those teenagers tried to take some alcohol from the table, Casita would move them away from the table before they could even grab it.
A lot of people were dancing and singing. Pepa and Félix were dancing together in the middle of the room, Dolores and Mariano were also dancing, a bit slower than her parents as they were longingly gazing in each other's eyes. Mirabel and Isabel were also on the dancefloor together, loudly giggling as they spinned each other around and sometimes Luisa joined her sisters. Julieta and Agustín had danced also quite a bit and Camilo had danced with Alma with Antonio before his mother had sent the youngest to bed. I was standing on the sideline, nursing a glass of wine as if it was my only friend while I watched all the dancing people, a longing for it pooling inside of me, wishing for a special someone to sweep me off my feet and dance with me till the early mornings. But that special someone did not exist.
Everyone of my friends had found that special person and some even already had married them but not me. No, I always was just one of the bridemaids at those weddings. I watched how someone caught the flowers and some time later they were engaged. Some even had children already and were happy parents while I was just tía Y/N, single tía Y/N who was always alone, spending her nights with a book instead of a man.
"I swear you will never find a husband on the sideline!"My best friend exclaimed as she took a glass of water to hydrate herself before she would join her husband on the dancefloor again. "Perhaps I'm fine with becoming an old spinsters with 100 cats."I suggested with a smile as she shook her head at that. "How about a little deal?"She said with a smirk, finishing her glass of water. "You owe me one deal and I am claiming it today."She added before I could argue her. "If you don't dance with a man tonight, I can set you up on a date with Juan."She said as my eyes widened at that, shaking my head. "No, no, no. Not Juan, he is so...extra."I muttered as she held her hands up. "Then I would find someone to dance with!"She said, going back on the dancefloor before I could argue further with her as I now stood in disbelief alone on the sideline with an empty glass. "How am I supposed to find someone to dance with Casita?"I asked in disbelief, putting down the empty glass. "No one will dance with me!"I added perhaps slightly dramatical as I leant against the wall. My eyes scanned all the people, finding Juan dancing with different girls and having fun while I already knew tomorrow he would claim none would make him feel how he feels when he is with me. "I rather die than go on a date with him."I muttered, wanting to take another glass of wine but before I could, the tiles under my shoes moved as I got carried around the room till I got dropped against someone. "Casita! I have been drinking wine the whole evening, why do you now move me away?!"I said, slightly annoyed before my attention went to the perdon I had bumped sgainst because of Casita as I was standing next to Bruno. "Hehehe, well sorry about Casita. Sometimes she does stuff like that to... uhm..."He explained slightly nervous, scratching the back of his head. "Oh my god...Hero, Casita. I lovr you!"I exclaimed before grabbing a confused Bruno's hand. "I need you to dance with me!"I explained, dragging him towards the dancefloor. "Oh, uh, no, I mean...I don't... you know dance."He said, trying to get away. "Neither do I!" I said back with a smile. So we can dance like two idiots together!"I added witch a chuckle, obvlious to all the curious gazes from the other Madrigals. "Why do you even want to dance with me?"He asked confused as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Because if I do not dance with anyone tonight, I have to go on a date with him."I explained, pointing towards Juan who was now making out with one of the girls he was dancing with. "It seems to me he has a girlfriend."He muttered, looking at them as I chuckled at that. "I wish!"I exclaimed, putting Bruno's hands on my waist. "Mi amor, she means nothing to me! It was a slip up but there was nothing. Oh no, my angel. She is a sin but I want to pray to you!"I said dramatically, making myself sound like Juan slightly. "I want to have ten bébes with you!"I added, resting a hand against my forehead as I could hear a chuckle leaving Bruno's lips. "Oh mi amor, I want to serenade you! I want to marry you and start a big familia! You will be the madre to all my children."I said next before leaning closer. "Secret is, he has a dozen of kids he refuses to aknowledge."I whispered to him. "I understand you do not want to go on a date with him. Sounds like a bad telenovella."He said back as I gasped at that. "I know, right?!"I said with a laugh. "I would rather climb over the mountains of the Encanto than have a date with him!"I stated. "Now that would be a great plot."He muttered, thinking about it. "Imagine a woman goes through hell to escape a man who would never let her go but she wants to escape a love as captiving as that. So she leaves her hometown and goes to the next village where she meets a handsome stranger who promised her a free love but before they can love, the other man shows up!"He said dramatically, stopping the dancing to gesture with his arms. Suddenly not nervous anymore. "They get into a fight over her!"He continued, moving his arm as if he was swordfighting someone. "Mi amor, come home with me! He is poisoning you!"He exclaimed, making his voice a bit high pitched. "I will never, I rather die loving him than live without having truly loved!"I said back dramatically as he laughed at that. "And then..." "Hola, mi amor!"Before Bruno could continue someone rlse had joined us as Juan was now suddenly next to me, draping an arm around me. "Goodbye!"I said back, grabbing Bruno's hand to pull him out of the dancing crowd and away from Juan. "And then?" I asked curious, needing to know how he would end it. "I don't know yet."He answered with an awkward chuckle, a gasp leaving my lips. "No, Bruno! I need to know!"I exclaimed loudly grabbing his shoulders. "You have to tell me the end!"I said, staring at him. Perhaps the handsome stranger wins and he marries the woman."Dolores suggested, standing suddenly next to us. "That is so..."I started, ghinking about it. "Lame."Bruno and I said on the same moment causing Dolores to chuckle as she turned away, joining her mother on the dancefloor. "I know!"I said loudly. "She stands in front of her handsome stranger after saying that!" I continued as Bruno gasped at that. "And than the evil man will stab her!"I added as he nodded his head. "Then, mi amor, you will die never knowing love!"Bruno said, making his voice change slightly as if he was the evil man. "No, I will know how love feels because even looking in his eyes, love is what I felt! You will live never knowing love."I said back, leaning against Bruno before dropping my head on his shoulder. "And scene."I muttered before looking back up at him. "I need to write this down, this could be an amazing telenovella!"He exclaimed, this time he grabbed my hand before running up the stairs towards his tower and I followed him, wanting to know more about this telenovella.
