JUNGKOOK POV

Once Jungkook parked the truck at the pack house driveway, he turned to Jimin and Jungmin.

The Omega had fallen asleep during the drive.

Min, however, was wide awake.

When he leaned in close to help Jimin unbuckle his seat belt, Min withdrew further inside the sling.

The initial hope he felt earlier, deflated.

Min was back to being terrified of him again. Perfect.

Jimin stirred awake.

The Omega immediately hunched into himself, Was Jimin imagining he was still back in that oppressive cabin?

Jungkook gently clasped his shoulder, Jimin jumped in his seat, eyes wide.

The Omega automatically cradled Min in his sling, Jimin's first instinct was to protect Jungmin.

Jungmin wasn't even his kid.

This Omega was truly something, Jungkook mused.

"It's just me, You're safe."

"Both of you are." He assured.

Jimin relaxed at the sound of his voice. "I'm sorry."

"I got jumpy for no reason."

"It's perfectly fine, I understand."

Jungkook didn't enjoy seeing him like this.

So vulnerable and scared.

He wished he could turn back time so he could take his time killing Kai and Jiwoo again.

Jiwoo.

Shit.

Jungkook hadn't mentioned his concerns to Jimin that the polar bear Alpha could still be alive.

Jungkook decided to keep that information to himself.

After all what were the chances anyone, even an Alpha, survived a devastating fall like that with a neck wound? Not high.

"Sorry It's embarrassing."

"You saved me, I shouldn't be cringing from you."

"You don't need to apologise twice." He exited the truck and began unloading their purchases.

When Jimin tried to help, he shoed him away. "I'll bring your stuff to your room."

"You can go on inside, Freshen up."

"Dinner's almost ready, I think."

"Okay then." Jimin flashed him a shy smile, then headed on inside.

He already told Jimin that one of the empty guest bedrooms would be ready for him once they returned.

Jin worked from home and had volunteered to fix the room up.

Jungkook appreciated Jin's efforts, knowing the Omega was busy working on a few projects and taking care of the girls while Joon was on a job.

Jungkook would've preferred if Jimin stayed in the same room with him.

It made little sense to anyone, even him but the Omega's presence calmed and soothed the violent beast that shared his skin.

Still, he doubted Jimin wanted to share a bed with a stranger.

After Jungkook finished carrying the bags to Jimin's new room, he found Jimin chatting with Jin in the kitchen.
