Hi, sorry for not posting in so long, I just ran out of ideas. Despite having so much prompts, I didn't have any ideas for the plot, until I came across a childhood au of a ship I really like. So now we're here! There's a little easter egg in the oneshot so try to find it, good luck!

Enjoy reading the oneshot!

'Oh my god, that was so stressful back then, should have done an easier route. But I finally succeeded in running away! Now where to go...hmm...' Dazai thinks to himself while running through the empty street, there was barely anyone here, it was like they had all been wiped out by something or someone.

Dazai looks up as he came across a beautiful field of daffodils, he had never had the chance to see this much flowers after all. He had been locked up his room for years without that much human contact, he didn't pay much attention to when one of his teachers started spouting about flowers and their meanings but he does remember how they look like. Aren't these daffodils...? Moving on, Dazai lied down on a spot where there were no flowers to avoid crushing them and destroying the beautiful field.

It was silent for a while, he was at peace in the field of daffodils, it wasn't long until he heard a voice. It was another boy, he looked very fragile? Weak? It seemed like he was malnourished, they boy had dark hair and dark purple-ish, with very light skin, is he even alright?

"Who are you? I've never seen you before." The malnourished looking boy asked, Dazai looks at him cautiously, "Tell me who you are first and then I'll tell you who I am." The boy sighed, and reluctantly said, "I am Fyodor Dostoevsky." Dazai looks at Fyodor dumbfounded, "Dosto- huh???"

"Just call me Fyodor, it's easier." Fyodor smiles, amused by his struggle, "Now who are you?" "My name is Dazai Osamu....Your name is unfamiliar, are you from another country?" The other person (Fyodor if you're confused) smiles at him, "I'm Russian, my parents are just here for some business." "Then why are you not with them right now?" Fyodor flinches slightly, making Dazai even more curious.

"I...I took the opportunity and kind of ran away? I'm still going to have to return to where we're staying before father returns either way."

That made Dazai even more curious at the subtle (but not really) fear that filled Fyodor's eyes for a moment while he told him that. Of course, if he asked then it would be a breach of privacy and he would lose a potential ally or friend. But small talk is sooooo boring, what should he ask Fyodor to interest him into a deep conversation...

"Do you think water is wet?" Dazai blurted out, Fyodor stared at him, both confused and amused at the sudden change of topic. But he answered anyways, "I think it can be both wet and not wet." "Really? Why do you think so?" "Well, when we touch water, it feels wet. But if we look at the water molecules, it's not wet. So really, it can be either way."

They chatted for a few more hours until Fyodor had to go back home, they said goodbye, promising to meet again later on....

'It's been 8 years, I wonder how he's doing after last time we met.' Dazai thought as he wandered through the streets of Yokohama. He had just left the Port Mafia and now he had nowhere to go, he can't just live on the money that he gained during the time in the Port Mafia forever. His mind wandered to his first friend, the one that kept visiting the field with him everyday until he had to go back to Russia. 'What is he doing now I wonder, is he having good life, is he still looking malnourished like before?'

While walking around, Dazai caught sight of a familiar figure, he quickly turned around and saw him, Fyodor! He's here? "Fyodor!" Fyodor turned around with a shocked expression, he couldn't believe that he would see him again. After all, his parents seemed to be very strict from Fyodor's description. "How have you been, it's been so long!" He reached out to grab his arm, but Fyodor suddenly slapped it away.

"I've been alright, thanks for asking, just, please don't touch me." Fyodor told him, he didn't know what ability Dazai had but it's fine to be cautious, right? Dazai stubbornly held his hand, proving that nothing happened, Fyodor looked shocked and kind of uncomfortable at the sudden physical contact that he hasn't felt in so long. 'I really need to get used to this.' Fyodor thought, trying to get Dazai's hand off. Soon enough, he understood the gesture and left Fyodor's hand alone.

"...Do you have an ability that activates when someone touches you? Or can you control it." Dazai tried to look into Fyodor's eyes but the other looked away, clearly still uncomfortable from the touch earlier. "I can't really control it right now but I'm learning to. What's your ability? Can it nullify other abilities?" "Correct guess! I can nullify other abilities with just a touch!"

After a silent moment, Fyodor speaks up first, "You have nowhere to go right? Why don't you come live with me in Russia." "You'll let me stay with you?" "Yes? I mean, you can if you want to." "Let's go then!"

After a round of packing up and flying to Russia and then going to Fyodor's house, they finally arrived at their destination. When they entered the house, it felt like home to Dazai, although it was pretty messy, it still felt homely. Fyodor led Dazai to the spare room that he had, and left Dazai there to get used to being here.

They lived in that house together for a few years until Dazai went back to Japan. Everything happens.

Fyodor got his hands on the book, and he has wiped out every other ability users except himself and Dazai. He walks to Dazai and sat next to him, giving him two flowers, a lilac, and a daffodil. Dazai looks at him, confused at the gift that he gave him while he was on the verge of death. "You were never really interested in what flowers symbolises, weren't you? I guess I can drag this secret to death with you then." Fyodor smiles with regret, "I love you, Dazai, and I'm sorry but I have to do this. I'll meet you again later, Dazai."

Dazai lied down and smiled as his eyes slowly closed, "I love you too, Fedya..." Fyodor took a look at his dead body and stood, he looked at his surroundings, dead bodies littered the place. He glanced at the dead bodies of the Port Mafia, the Agency, the Hunting Dogs, and all the others. He sighed, and then destroyed both the book and himself. If someone ever asked him if he regrets doing this, he'd say no.

He will soon reunite with his love and they will live a happy life, unlike this one. After all, daffodils do symbolise new beginnings.

"...and lilacs symbolises the beginning...of love...."

I didn't really know what I should make them act like as children so I just went with a bit of naivety and doubt.

Have a nice day!
