It was a quiet, clear-skied night, and all of the Backyardigans were sound asleep, nice and cozy in their beds... except for Uniqua.
Uniqua's Mind: Why is it so hot in here?
She took the blanket covering her body and threw it over to the foot of the bed, but that did nothing to mitigate her discomfort.
Uniqua's Mind: Ugh, it's still too hot! Maybe some water will cool me down.
She got up out of her bed and started heading toward the kitchen. Before she could reach her bedroom door, however, she started getting a strange, queasy sensation within. It felt as though her stomach was doing backflips, until the polka-dotted girl could feel the contents coming back up.
Before Uniqua could get herself back up, her mothers rushed in and turned on the lights, allowing them to see their little girl on the floor, with her purple unicorn onesie pajamas soiled and a puddle of her own sick right in front of her.
Nancy-Anne: Uniqua? What happened?
Uniqua: I was just going to get a glass of water, but then I started feeling strange.
Lauren: Oh no, my poor sweet baby!
Nancy-Anne: (turning to Lauren) I'll clean this up. You go get Uniqua cleaned up, take her temperature, and let me know what it reads.
Heeding her wife, Lauren helped Uniqua up and started taking her over to the bathroom, where she helped her daughter remove her unicorn onesie pajamas and placed them in the laundry hamper. Then she took a forehead thermometer out of the bathroom cabinet and put it up to Uniqua's forehead, when Nancy-Anne came in with a hanger that held a lavender nightgown with a soft-pink heart on it.
Nancy-Anne: What does it read?
Lauren: 39 degrees.
Uniqua: I can't be getting sick, because then I can't go out and play with my friends!
Lauren: Maybe some rest will help. Let's get you back to bed and check on you again in the morning.
With that, both mothers got Uniqua into the nightgown, and she got her drink of water before returning to her freshly-cleaned bedroom and going back to bed.
