Hey everyone! I know I haven't updated the story in a while and I would like to apologize for that. I don't even have a good reason I should have more than enough time out of school but haven't been feeling like doing much of anything. But after finishing editing my latest YouTube video I feel like I should update this story as well.
Also sorry I don't think this will be a long chapter.
A bit of time has passed since Midoriya won the sports festival. Normally he would be off training as hard as he could, but lately, he hadn't been giving it all during training. His mind was still playing the words that yaoyorozu said over and over again in his head, "I just... don't think that I can trust you right now." Midoriya was confused at first when he heard her say it, but now it's all too clear.
She's scared of him.
Midoriya had just gotten back home from his morning jog, and when he walked into his apartment his mother greeted him with a smile. After all who wouldn't be proud of their son after winning a tournament that was broadcasted around the country? "How's my superstar this morning?" she said with a grin. "I'm doing fine mom, I was just gonna hop in the shower before breakfast." "Well okay after you're finished I wanna talk to you so don't take too long."
Midoriya wondered what his mom wanted to talk about but figured it could wait until after his shower. While getting dressed Midoriya stared at his phone, he was watching the sports festival that was posted online. Specifically, he was watching his fight with Bakugo, contemplating why he lost control as he did. But if he understood anything it was why Yaoyarozu wanted to get away from him. From the stands, it was like watching a lion rip a gazelle apart limb from limb.
After he finished the video and got dressed he met his mother at the table to have breakfast. After a bit of silence, Inko spoke up first. "Son, I can tell that you thinking about something, can you tell me what it is?" Midoriya looked up at his mother and hesitated a bit. He knows that his mother cares about him but telling her about a problem is a bit embarrassing. He feels as if he should be able to handle this by himself without getting anyone else involved. But still, he doesn't want his mom to worry the most, and keeping secrets from her such as this is probably the best way to stress her out.
"I recently lost a friend that meant a lot to me, so now I'm feeling down." " Oh no did they pass away?" "No no no! They just told me that they didn't want to be friends anymore." "Oh, I'm sorry for jumping to such a large conclusion. But I can understand how you feel, I've lost a lot of friends in my younger days." Inko said sadly reflecting on her younger life. "But you wanna know something?" Midoriya looked up in confusion. "The loss of one good friend isn't the end of the world. Eventually, you'll make new friends that make you even better than you already are."
Midoriya thought about that a bit. And the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Sure he isn't friends with Yaoyorozu but that doesn't mean he lost everything. He still has Iida, Ochako, Tsuyu, and everyone else that cared about him in Class 1A. Deku looked up towards Inko with a glimmer of shine in his eyes. "Thanks, Mom this really meant a lot to me." The green-haired boy got up from the table and hugged his mother, when he pulled back he also got a glance at the clock. "Oh no if I don't hurry I'm gonna be late." Midoriya quickly put on his shoes and grabbed his things and ran out the door. "What am I gonna do with him," Inko said to Herself.
At UA High
"Whoa Midoriya-bro You've been killing it in class today, maybe you could lead a study group me and the others were planning on making." A pink girl with the same color pink hair came and joined the conversation "Yeah Midoriya you're like super smart and stuff" "I-I don't know, I don't think I'm cut out for teaching." Midoriya stood up and said his goodbyes to Kirishima and Ashido. He was halfway outside the door when he heard a familiar voice call out to him. "Hello, Midoriya!" Midioriya turned around to see his two good friends Iida, and Ochako standing behind him. "Good friend Midoriya, we were wondering if you would like to walk home together." As of late Midoriya hadn't been hanging out with his first-ever friends in UA ever since he met back up with... Yaoyorozu. It was still a sore subject for him but he wouldn't let it get him down. Midoriya looked at his friends with a smile. "Yeah, I would love to."
The trio walked out of the classroom talking and laughing. And as they were walking out a certain pair of Onyx colored eyes were on them.
While walking on the way home the trio decided to stop at a nearby convenience store. Deku didn't need to get anything so he decided to wait outside for the other two. "It's a real nice day outside."
"Some Body Help Me!"
Deku looked to his right to see that a woman was getting her purse snatched. He wasted no time analyzing the situation while running over to help her. 'From the looks of it, the guy is about an average build with a bit of extra weight. By the time I get there, he'll be about 20 meters away from where the woman is.' "Thanks to my training I should be able to get him even without my quirk" Deku then picked up the pace to catch the criminal, thanks to his daily workout he had more than enough stamina and speed to catch up to the thief. He then tackled the thief and kept him pinned. Some local bystanders called the police and the thief was taken away, deku handed the purse to the woman it was stolen from. "Here you go ma'am hopefully nothing was damaged. The woman hugged Deku tightly so much that he also couldn't breathe. "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you soooooo much." Deku was turning a little blue in the face. "It's no problem ma'am" The woman finally let go of Deku and cupped his face. "Say, do I know you from somewhere? Deku was still trying to regain his breath so he couldn't exactly think straight as he normally could. "Must be my imagination." The woman quickly took something out of her purse and placed it in Deku's hands and quickly left. "Have a nice daaaaaaaayyyy."
Midoriya was confused about what just happened, preferably he would like to give the gift back since he thinks heroes shouldn't accept rewards for doing good things. 'Just what did she give me anyway?' Midoriya looked down and had his hand to see a money roll. He unraveled it to see a large sum of money. 'Oh my God who gives this much money to someone as a thank you!' Midoriya decided to keep the money but not spend it just in case he ever saw that woman again so that he could give the money back.
Iida and Ochako ran out of the store after hearing all the commotion and ran over to Midoriya. "Midoriya is everything alright?" "Yeah, we heard some yelling and were afraid something might of happened." "Nothing too important, it was just a woman getting robbed so I went after the thief and stopped him." Iida and Ochako looked at him dumbfounded. "Ya know Deku sometimes you're a bit too much of a hero." Midoriya looked confused he didn't think it was that much of a big deal, but still he was glad that he was able to help someone in need. "Why don't we just continue our walk home, it would be trouble if the media got here and we're still here." "Yeah let's go Deku." And so they continued their walk home.
While walking Midoriya realized something, He was able to help someone out today. It wasn't much but it still meant something to the person he saved. 'That's right I came to UA so that I could be a hero, I had almost forgotten my goal of becoming a hero who could people with a smile.
And that marks the end of the chapter, sorry if it felt short or a little corny. I plan on updating this story more often than I have been so look forward to it. Have a Great Thanksgiving.
