This takes place at the same time as "regrets" Lowkey there's gonna be some retcons sorry.
Walking down to the train station was probably one of Midoriya's favorite pastimes. It was the only time of the day were he could relax and enjoy his surroundings: the warm sun, the cool breeze, and the occasional crying child.
". . . ?—"
'A crying child here of all places?'
It wasn't that children weren't supposed to be in this area, but rather it's strange seeing a child here in the first place since there aren't any elementary schools near this area; the only people you would see on this road are teenagers and adults who needed to ride the train. He tried to catch a glance at the girl and see if there was anything he could do to solve the problem but it seemed she was already being accommodated by what seemed to be her father. He was glad that the girl was helped but still something kept nagging him deep inside of his gut.
'. . . Snow White hair.'
The best he could do to ease his worries was to make a mental note.'~At UA~
'. . .—' Midoriya was silently standing at the door contemplating if he should go in or not; he usually heard the screams and laughter of his classmates coming through the door so hearing nothing but silence before opening the door set off a little bit of anxiety.
'I wonder if they heard me? Maybe I can turn back and hide somewhere? Wait no Aizawa would definitely find me.'
Running out of options he just decided to accept whatever happens next and opened the door.
"The Sports festival champ has arrived!"
Suddenly Kirishima and Mina appeared on both sides of Midoriya popping party streamers in his hair.
"Huh?" "Congrats on winning the sports festival midoriya!"
Pats on the back, fist bumps, and high fives it was like a whole new world to him; and now that he thought about it this might've been the first time in his life his classmates of all people congratulated him on something. But there was still something missing; this is something he's always wanted but he couldn't enjoy it to the fullest without that missing piece. Her beautiful long black hair put into a ponytail, her onyx eyes and the way he had to look up at them, that beautiful voice that let itself known, that's the person who he wanted to praise him most...
'But I guess that won't be happening now.'After thanking his classmates Midoriya fell into his seat, he appreciated the praise he got from his classmates but he didn't know how to properly manage a social battery, hell he never had to manage it much until he got to UA.
Forcing his head up to avoid drowsiness he couldn't help but notice when a certain runner-up entered the class. Midoriya fully expected to get a face full of an explosion or at the least an ear full of screaming, but it never came the way Bakugo walked to his seat in front of him and sat down could've made the average person think he had a normal temperament. But he didn't care about that anymore when someone more important walked through the classroom doors. He wanted to look longer, speak with her, hear her speak, maybe even push beyond his limits, and hang out with her outside of class, but as soon as he saw her the words she said to him replayed in his mind even faster."If you can't keep yourself in check you'll end up hurting your friends...
...end up hurting me."
'I don't have the right.'
Looking down at his desk a certain heat began to build in his stomach while a slight tingle could be felt in his brain, what was this feeling? Even Midoriya does not know, but it doesn't change the fact that he'll now have to deal with it.~After class~
With the knowledge of the internships now it comes to decide which pro hero the students of class 1-A should study under. In Midoriya's case in particular, since he had a lot of offers he planned to review a majority of them before turning them in, or at least that's what he was gonna do until he saw that all might had just sent him a text.
'Midoriya-kid swing by my office I've got some interesting news for you regarding your pro hero internships.'
'Right of course I'll come by as soon as I can'
Grabbing his things and packing up midoriya was about to exit the classroom when he noticed the face of his friend Iida. Iida had always been the robotic class president but he seemed off, his normal studious look was instead replaced by a furrowed brow even though there wasn't anything around that he could see that might be bothering him.
"Hey, Iida everything okay?"
"Oh? Yes midoriya I'm fine, just deciding on my hero internship."
"Seriously? Right now? Did you already have somebody in mind?"
"Yes the pro hero, Manual is who I decided on."
"R-really? I didn't think Manual was someone who could help someone like you improve majorly but I guess you understand what you should work on more than anyone."
"I appreciate your concerns Midoriya but I'm sure Manual is someone who can help me with my goal."
"Right, I guess I'm in no position to try to tell you who you should go with, but don't hesitate to ask for help."
"Thank you Midoriya I'll keep that in mind."
Iida then excused himself from the scene, he got what he wanted to say out but he still felt like it didn't get through. But he'll just have to hope for the best for now...
Unbeknownst to them a certain icy hot listener was listening in to their conversation. 'Iida... that look on his face was like the same one I had before the sports festival.'~All Mights office~
"Are classes going well?"
"Yes, I'm keeping my grades up in all areas."
"That's great, and how about your training? I know I don't have to ask but I trust you've been on top of things?"
"Of course I do there'd be no point in coming this far if stopped my training now."
All might took a sip from tea that he had prepared for the both of them.
"Good, very good you'll need that kind of attitude if you choose to go with what I have planned next."
"...what you have planned next? You make it sound a little sinister."
All Might began to chuckle almost choking on his tea.
"Oh sorry about that Midoriya-Kid, what I wanted to speak to you about was a certain offer that I wanted to tell you about for your internships."
Midoriya jumped up at the thought of training under someone personally recommended by the number 1
"For you to recommend them personally they must be the best of the best who is it?"
"My old master."
". . .—? YOU HAD A MASTER?"
The room got quiet for a bit before regaining its previous mood.
"S-sorry for yelling but I seriously didn't know you had a master."
"C'mon, I know most would say I'm a prodigy but even the most talented people need teachers to help hone their skills. He may be up there in years but he can still compete with the best these days."
"So does he know about one for all?"
"He does matter of fact he wasn't only my teacher but also the 7th user's crime-fighting partner. He's been helping in the fight against all for one ever since I was in high school.
"Even the 7th!?" 'Should this guy still even be an active hero?'
"So what kind of teacher is he like?"
"..."
"Allmight?"
"If you chose to go with him for your internships all I have to say is good luck."
'WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT!'
"R-right.~Midoriya's house~
Sitting at his desk Midoriya looked at the paper all Might gave him earlier containing the info on his teacher.
'Grand Torino huh? Looks like he's a speed-type hero. His quirk looks like it shoots air out of his feet to propel himself forward. I could definitely use training in my speed and dexterity, no point in throwing a smash if they can see it coming and get out of the way in time. And if he's all Mights teacher then I'm sure he can help me gain better control on OFA. Now that I think about it this is the best choice for me.'__________________________________
