Lisa's POV

Shuffling of the sheets and the flip of the lights had Lisa stirring awake. Much like every Monday morning, Jennie was up early and in a rush to leave for her job. Lisa groaned as she looked at their bedside clock, 4:30am. "Baby, why do you get up so early? You don't have to be in until 9am." Lisa pleaded with her girlfriend as she does every weekday morning.

"Lisa, you know my morning routine. I can't just mess it up one day and fall out of habit. I need to take my shower, get ready, and by that time it's like 6am. Then I have to head out early to grab some coffee and get to work." Jennie replied in an unapologetic fashion.

"Yeah but we have coffee at home baby. Just stay in bed for another hour please." Lisa gave her lover her famous puppy dog eyes, the ones that always used to work on her.

Jennie shook her head and said "No. Not today," simply and then grabbed her work clothes disappearing behind their bathroom door connected to their bedroom. Lisa groaned again and shoved her face into her pillow.

Lisa was extremely frustrated with her girlfriend as of late. Jennie always used to stay in bed extra with Lisa before work. She always made her coffee at home. She always fell for her puppy dog sad face. Lisa was confused as to what had changed within the last few months. It was like Jennie had detached from her and only felt like her during sex. It made Lisa sad and felt like she was being used.

And the bad part about the situation is that Lisa has tried talking to Jennie multiple times about her feelings. Every time Jennie shrugs it off using 'heavier workload' as an excuse. Lisa couldn't help but feel like something was wrong or up in her gut. But again, Lisa didn't go through the same pressure as Jennie and had no idea what her career was truly like. So she continues to give her girlfriend the benefit of the doubt.

Lisa rolled over on her side facing the bathroom door. She felt defeated and sad. What am I doing wrong? Kept replaying in her head, over and over again. It was like a record, she couldn't for the life of her grasp as to why Jennie was treating her this way. It was so out of character and unlike her.

Lisa didn't want to think anymore, she didn't have it in her. She was exhausted and fed up with her girlfriend. The girl whom she would do absolutely anything for, can't even stay in bed an extra hour for her. Lisa closed her eyes and tried to go back to sleep.

Without saying goodbye, she heard Jennie shut the door to their bedroom at her usual time, 6:30am. Lisa still couldn't understand why she was leaving so god damn early for.

Sleep calling Lisa's name, she gave in. Lisa slept because she didn't want to think anymore. She slept the pain away and shoved it back into the deepest part of her brain she could.

Lisa woke up to a notification.

My World ❤️: Going out tonight with some work friends at around 7pm. Don't wait up for me.

Seeing the text made her stomach drop. She simply couldn't believe her girlfriend as she was blowing off their Monday movie night for some work friends. Lisa scoffed out loud and threw her phone on the bed beside her. "It's not even 9am and she's already making plans for after work? Get real." Lisa said to herself.

Lisa's brain resurfaced all of her previous thoughts. She took a couple Ibuprofen to maybe get rid of the thoughts but realized it was just pain reliever and wouldn't actually help with that problem.

She sat down at the kitchen table and held her coffee mug in her hand, slowly sipping. A single tear fell from her eye as she wiped it away.

Lisa had met her girlfriend Jennie over a year ago during the summer. Lisa was hired to do some work for Jennie's law firm in downtown LA and the two instantly clicked. Jennie did most of the up front flirting, and from there the two were inseparable. Lisa had never felt what she feels for that girl. She would do anything, and she means anything for her. She never knew fate could bring two people together like that, but she definitely believed in that concept now.
