Chaeyoung's POV

Chaeyoung's phone must've rang a thousand times already this morning. She was steady staring at the screen now, debating on whether she should answer her call. She knew she needed to open that can of worms sometime, but she wasn't sure when she would be ready.

Because of Jennie's lie, she had back tracked into a world of hurt. She regressed into remembering old dirt on her family. Memories she thought she buried deep into her mind, far enough back so they would never come out again.

What should she do? She didn't know for sure. Realistically speaking, Chaeyoung knew she needed to talk to her and clear her conscience about everything eating her away. But at what cost?

Still debating, Chaeyoung attempted to make some pancakes for breakfast. But much like every other time she's in the kitchen, she fails miserably. She groaned to herself and decided to have a simple granola bar like always.

Her phone started to vibrate once more. It was killing Chaeyoung to continue ignoring it. She couldn't hide forever. She was actually surprised Jennie hadn't pulled up yet.

She let her mind at ease and finally picked up.

"Jennie."

"Chaeyoung- Chaeyoung. Thank you for answering. I hope you're okay."

"I'm fine."

"Good. Can we please talk? Soon?"

"Come over whenever."

"I'm on my way."

"I'll talk to you when you arrive."

"Got it."

Chaeyoung hung up her phone and took a very deep breath. She hoped this was the right decision.

Not but twenty minutes later there was a knock at her door. Chaeyoung didn't even bother changing out of her pajamas yet. She wore pajama pants with symmetric designs on them, a long sleeve shirt, no bra, and her hair was loosely tied up.

Opening the door, Chaeyoung moved to the side offering Jennie in.

"Let's sit." Chaeyoung said leading her into the living room. Not that she needed directions, she had been here before.

"Chaeyoung, I'm going to be 100% honest here. I know that's a lot coming from me since all I do is lie, right? But it's time I stop. I'm just going to get right to the point. I am so sorry I lied to you about Lisa being abusive towards me. She wasn't, as you already know, and it was very wrong of me to make up such a rumor." Jennie explained calmly, sitting on the edge of the couch.

Chaeyoung took a seat far away from her on the other end. She nodded her head, wanting more. Except she wasn't exactly sure how Jennie knew she knew she lied yet.

"Lisa... Lisa was an amazing girlfriend to me. I was the one in the wrong. I was the problem. She treated me with nothing but love and kindness. I don't want what I said to you, for your opinion on her to change. I understand you two are becoming friends now, and I feel bad for planting a false seed in your mind." Jennie shook her head and bowed her head. She seemed ashamed in herself.

"Why did you lie?" Chaeyoung questioned, genuinely wanting to know. There's got to be a reason for everything.

"I was so scared to lose you. It sounds dumb, but I thought making up a lie would be better than telling the truth. When in reality, the truth was more redeeming then the lie. Now there's nothing redeeming about me."

"What's the truth then?" Chaeyoung didn't know anymore.

"That when I first laid eyes on you I knew I loved you." Jennie uttered those three little words to Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung didn't want to hear them. She never felt them towards Jennie, and she was shocked Jennie felt that towards Chaeyoung.
