Jiwoo waits.
Her shoes click on the ground quickly, and her hands fidget with the napkin on the table.
Maybe she is shivering from the cold.
Maybe she is nervous.
Probably the second option.
A chime of the bell echoes through the cafe.
She turns toward the person entering.
Sooyoung.
Jiwoo smiles.
She's so beautiful
Jiwoo hadn't really seen Sooyoung wear something other than a hoodie and some sweatpants, but today, it's a little different.
Sooyoung wears some ripped, flare navy jeans, a simple grey T-shirt, and a black bomber jacket. A black cap, with no designs, is settled on her slightly messy hair, and a jet-black choker wraps around her neck.
Jiwoo waves a little.
Sooyoung waves back and walks closer to Jiwoo.
"You look nice," Sooyoung says.
Her heart beats quicker.
"I could say the same thing about you."
"So, I guess the others didn't decide to come," Sooyoung says.
"Yup, not really sure why," Jiwoo tries hard to suppress her racing heart.
"Uh, want a drink?"
"Sure!"
"Alright, drinks on me," Sooyoung pulls out her wallet.
"Wait no. I have money," Jiwoo says and begins to search her pastel pink purse for her wallet.
A hand wraps around her wrist, stopping her. Jiwoo freezes.
"Trust me, I got it," Sooyoung says and smiles.
Her heart seems to exit her body.
Sooyoung asks, "You alright? You're kinda shaking. Is it too cold?"
"Oh, uh, y-yeah sure, I guess," Jiwoo blames her trembling on the cold.
Her heart, at least, seems to have returned to her body.
Jiwoo watches as Sooyoung pulls her jacket off. She walks closer to her and settles the jacket on her back
"Better?" Sooyoung asks.
"Uh, yeah. Thank you."
"No problem. Alright, what do you want?"

After they order their drinks, they sit down at a table.
"So, um, you ready?" Sooyoung asks.
"Ready for what?"
"The journey."
"I'm not sure," Jiwoo says.
"I'm kinda nervous."
"Oh," Jiwoo doesn't know what else to say.
"You nervous?"
"Definitely."
They're quiet.
Sooyoung starts, "Well, at least I know that superpowers exist."
Jiwoo chuckles, "Man out of all people, we had to be the ones with superpowers."
Sooyoung smiles.
