I sit next to Luke. Obviously. And we both hold hands. Calum looks...happy for once. That makes me happy as well. Ash blabs on about the new girl moving next door tomorrow. I'm not surprised if she's pretty. Mostly all of the girls in this neighborhood are drop dead gorgeous. After Ash has stopped talking. No offence to him. I think of a great idea. I'm such a genius.
"Since this new girl is moving next door tomorrow, why don't we have a welcoming party for her. It would be great to have another girl in this neighborhood and besides, she's lucky. She'll live next to the most amazing band ever!".
Luke smiles at me. I have brains as well as beauty, that's what Luke says sometimes when I think of something smart. Everyone nods in agreement. So does Calum. Beth says.
"Sounds epic! We should invite Calum's cousin Lydia or Gibbson as I like to call her. She always brightens up the room and she's great to be around".
We all agree to that too.
"Your soo smart Lydia. I'm soo glad I'm with an amazing girl like you".
"Well....I'm a genius after all Luke and awww thanks babe".
Out of the corner of my eye I see Calum. His smile faded and hands clasped together. I can tell he's not happy. Maybe my idea was not so great after all. Then we all fall silent. Calum speaks but not confidently.
"I'm glad your doing this guys, but come on. She's not going to like me".
"Calum listen to me. It's not about her liking you. It's about having fun and enjoying yourself. We'll buy fancy food and decoration. But first we need to tidy this place up first. Old pizza boxes and coke bottles are not welcoming and Beth is right. If we invite Lydia/Gibbson she'll make this party 10x better".
Calum smiles. He agrees with me and he can't hide it. I walk over to him and hug him. He hugs me back.
After discussing what to buy and decorate we start to tidy up. I'm surprised the boys have survived this long without tidying up. It takes hours but in the end everything looks clean and tidy. For now. I guess we'll have to wait for tomorrow. Whatever that will bring.
