chapter two

AVA KNEW that Jordan excluded the girl when they first met, it was kind of obvious and Jordan didn't try to hide it herself.

But Jordan's efforts to exclude the blonde all went in vain as Ava was persistent as anything. Because although Ava pretended to be humble she knew that everyone adored her.

She knew she was kind, graceful and very pretty, but so was Jordan. And Ava wanted to help her realise that, in the end, it didn't work but at least Jordan became her friend.

And even though the brunette had excluded Ava for months on end and was practically cruel to her at first, Ava loved Jordan.

Ava would do anything to be next to the girl because Jordan was Ava's person and Ava was Jordan's person.

Sometimes, Ava would call them platonic soulmates but then she'd get a look from Jordan who would say something along the lines of, "why do you believe in that rubbish?"

While Ava despised horror movies, Jordan loved them, while Ava's favourite holiday was Christmas, Jordan claimed hers was Halloween. While Ava was the lover, Jordan was the fighter.

The two girls went hand in hand. Opposites but with the perfect balance between them, the girls adapted to the different lives of one another.

And by now, the weird stares and whispers they'd sometimes get didn't phase them anymore. In all honestly, weird looks or whispers never phased Ava.

She hadn't a care in the world what others thought about her, she held the stares with a sense of pride in her chest that constantly screamed, "I'm friends with Jordan and your not!"

AVA AND JORDAN walked to Grab N' Go, the blood that was once on Jordan's knuckles was washed away and was replaced by bandages from Ava.

When Jordan pushed the door open for the blonde, Ava walked over to one of her friends. "Hey, Sadie!"

The redhead turned her head towards the blonde, a huge smile forming on her face, "and Bruce."

Bruce nodded towards her, a small grin on his face as the three began to converse. "Who'd you come with?" Sadie asked, and Ava turned her head to Jordan who was walking towards her.

The blonde happily waved to her friend and Bruce and Sadie nodded their goodbyes. The brunette handed Ava a bottle of coke and she took it gratefully.

"Where are we going?" Ava asked, she opened the bottle and took a sip. Out of the corner of her eye, the brunette shrugged, "I don't know."

Ava walked to the front door beside Jordan and got knocked slightly by her friend who had been barged into. Ava didn't have to look to know who it was.

Vance Hopper.

The boy who Ava held a very strong grudge against. He hadn't done anything personal to her per se, but he had beaten up Jordan enough times for her to know that she hated him.

She knew Jordan was strong of course, but whenever Jordan and Vance were together, trouble followed quickly.

"Give me a quarter," Ava heard the other blonde say, 'wow' The girl thought to herself, sighing when she saw Jordan's irritated face.

"Excuse me?" The brunette laughed slightly, Vance wasn't joking. "Give me a quarter."

The curly-haired blonde turned to face her and Jordan handed Ava her pack of cigarettes. The blonde girl sighed as she turned to see the cashier already dialling the police.

'What a reputation the two have...' Ava once again thought to herself, she shook her head and turned to Jordan. "I'll meet you at the park," Jordan just nodded and Ava left.

AVA SAT ON THE swings in the park, waiting for her friend to arrive. But she never did.

The blonde sighed, assuming that the police had taken the girl in and stood up from the swings. She walked down to Jordan's house, she knew she wasn't allowed to but she did it anyways.

She unlocked the doors and prayed that it was empty, it was. She slowly tried her best to navigate her way around the house, she found a room she assumed was Jordan's from the "peace and love" poster on the wall.

Ava found it ironic, a girl practically moulded from violence and anger had a peace and love poster on her bedroom wall. The girl snickered to herself and placed the girl's keys and cigarettes on the bed, she quickly walked out of the room and ran down the stairs to the front door.

She pulled it open and rushed out, slamming it on her way out so it would lock.
