THIRD'S POV

Jimin staked out the home on Bing Avenue and waited.

His mate was not home but he had to return sometime or so he thought.

As the hours passed, his imminent return became less of a certainty.

He waited all day Saturday and Sunday and come Monday morning, there was still no sign of Jeon Jungkook.

Jimin decided to go back to the Lodge and see if Cam had any further information.

He had the address so eventually his mate would have to return but the waiting was becoming unbearable, Jimin pulled away from the curb and entered traffic.

As he drove, he felt his skin prickled and his dragon skimmed the surface of his body, scales forming and receding on a wave of awareness.

He caught the steering wheel in a firm grip, His dragon wanted their mate and was becoming increasingly restless.

He drove back to the Lodge and met with Cam, hoping he had something that would help him find his mate.

"He's a stoneworker and works freelance, I have a business number for him." Cam sat behind his desk and stared at his computer screen as he relayed details about Jimin's mate.

"As I said before, he moved
here not long ago."

"From what I've found, he started advertising about six months back so that's probably around the time he moved here."

"Do you have anything that might give me an idea of where he is? I've staked out his home for the past fews but he hasn't returned."

Jimin needed more because the drive to find this man was burning through him and his dragon was itching to just take to the skies and tear through the countryside until he was found.

He thought about the business number but wasn't sure if he could just call him or if he should wait for a face-to-face.

"He works freelance, he's self-employed." Cam said.

"He takes jobs all over."

"He might be in another town working for a few days or longer but this is his home."

"So he will be back."

Jimin was hoping for so much more and his disappointment must have shown on his face.

"I'm sorry I couldn't find more."

"He has no internet identity apart from a small nothing website that briefly outlines his skills and gives a business number."

"He has no social presence there whatsoever but I'll keep looking." Cam told him but Jimin knew he needed to let the guy off the hook.

"It's okay cam, You gave me his name, address and a business number and if I can't make some thing happen with that then I don't deserve to find my mate."

"Thanks, you did well Cam but I'll take it from here." Cam had a tendency to fixate on a problem and stress himself out so Jimin knew it was time to let him go.

He went out to the back deck and pulled out his cell phone.

The business number probably wouldn't be of much use but he would give it a try.

His desperation was building with each day and each hour that passed, The number connected him to an answering machine.

He didn't leave a message.

He closed the call and stuck his phone back into his pocket, His mind was scrambling and his dragon's desire to just tear the countryside apart was becoming more and more appealing.

*****

"Here." Jai walked out with two cans of beer and handed one off to Jimin, who took it.

"Joon feels pretty bad for pulling you away from your mate the other night." He commented as he took a seat across from jimin.

"He had no way of knowing what was going on or that I would handle it so badly." Jimin responded sharply.

"I should have woken Jungkook and explained myself rather than using an ineffective sleep charm."

"There is no one to blame but myself for this and believe me if I could point fingers, I would."

"The stupidity is weighing pretty heavy on me right now." Jai reached over and patted him on the upper arm.

"You will be able to resolve the misunderstanding once you find him. He was into you, Jimin."

"I was there and I saw how he looked at you and how he held onto you."

"His mind is most likely filled with thoughts of that handsome stranger who thoroughly rocked his world."

"He's going to be happy to see you, brother." Jai smiled and it was the first time he felt a lightness come over him.

Jai was right.

This was his mate and he would be feeling the pull.

Things weren't as hopeless as he was telling himself.

"But with that said, you need to start calming your dragon."

"If he gets anymore out of hand, the King will be paying you a visit." Jai added on a more somber note.

"You felt him?"

"Yes,which means so did others."

"We're all here for you and just remember that there is no way we would allow one of our own to lose their mate."

"This will work out just as my mating worked out, You were there for me and know just how close I came to tragedy but Fate pulled out a win for me just as she will for you."

He remembered standing guard over Jai as his dragon began a slow descent into madness after being denied by his mate, Kai.

He could have lost his brother.

It was an awful time but with Fate's assist,Kai fixed and settled the misunderstandings that had nearly ended them both.

Today they're a strong and loving couple perfect in every way.

Jimin nodded his understanding of Jai's words.

"I'm overreacting." He admitted with a shake of his head.

"Not yet but you're getting there fast." Jai laughed and he joined.

"You're right,I need to slow down and work this out like the Dragon Knight that I am."

"My best option as you mentioned is to remain vigilant at his place of residence."

"He will return and I will be there."

Jimin figured other approaches could end in him looking desperate or worse, he could come off as weird and that would not ingratiate him with the man.

"It's not as bad as it seems."

"He's a one-man masonry operation, therefore whatever job he's on can't be too large."

"He'll be home soon, so plan for it." Jai's advice was solid and put Jimin in a better state of mind.

He would wait for his mate to return and then make his move.

But with that said, if Jungkook wasn't home by the weekend Jimin would probably lose his shit all over again.
