(Newt's POV(It's going to be in Newt's POV for all of the story)

"Is Alby showing the greenie around?"

My eyes wander the glade, trying to find them. Finally, I spot them. My eyes follow there every movement, as I plant a new seed for the garden.

"I would think so."

Zart (Keeper of the track-hoes) answers, digging a new hole for a new seed and following my gaze.

"Mhm..."

I squinted at their forms. I'm don't know what they're talking about, as I was to far away to hear. But I could only believe that Alby was showing the glade to the greenie and telling (probably threatening him too...) the rules of the glade.

"Why don't you go say 'hello' 'cause obviously you want to."

"Bu-"

I try to protest, but much to my embarrassment he only strengthens his suggestion.

"Your distracted, Newt. Your not much help when distracted. Go."

"Alright..."

I gave in and get up off my knees. They were covered in dirt, after working so long in the dirt and grass.

I hesitate for a second, until Zart decided to help me out and pushed me forward; encouraging me to talk to them.

"Go on then."

I let out a dramatic sigh and walk towards them.

"You alright there Alby?"

"Ah!   Green bean, meet Newt. When I'm not around, he's in charge."

Alby introduces me to the greenie. He looks at me like I'm the most interesting person in the world. I start to feel flustered and hot under his heavy gaze, but I hide it with a smirk after a brief moment.

I hesitate for a moment, thinking about what I could say. Serious and friendly. Or, sarcastic and funny...

Sarcastic and funny it is then.

"Well, it's a good thing your always around then."

Okay, sarcastic check. Now for the grand finale...

"That was some dash ya made earlier. For a second there, I thought ya had the chops to be a runner... that was until your face planted."

Boo-ya!

Alby smiles at me. While the greenie just stares at me with fascination and a hint of confusion. I start to feel hot again. Uncomfortable even.

"This is Thomas."

Alby finally gives me his name, I thought I'd have to ask for it.

"Welcome to the glade Tommy."

His name is Thomas, but when I welcome him, 'Tommy' slips out instead. And he seems to be unsure about the given nickname: he looks flushed and confused.

I decide not to use it and go back to calling him greenie.

"Newt, can you do me a favour. Can you  show Thomas 'ere his sleeping quarters."

It's a question. But the tone of his voice says differently. I nod.

"Great, see ya around Thomas."

"See ya Alby."

"Bye Newt."

My eyes follow his retreating form. Waiting until he's out of sight to start the mini tour.

"Come on greenie."

I say, as I turn to leave. When, to my surprise, he finally speaks and stops me in my tracks.

"My names not 'greenie'."

I turn around.

"So, the greenie can talk."

"I could always talk."

"Yea, I know. And I know your names not greenie, shank."

He looks confused by the last word, 'Shank'. Oh, yea, he's new here. He continues.

"Then, why do you keep saying it?"

"The word jus' rolls off my tongue."

Which, to be honest, it does. But, so does Tommy...

"Call me by my name."
"... Or what you called me before..."

He said the last sentence so quietly, I had to strain my ears to hear him. But, I heard him nonetheless. And I was so surprised by what I heard, I had to get him to repeat it.

"Huh, what did ya say there?"

"I said... O-or what you, um... called me b-before..."

He stutters.

"You want me to call you 'Tommy'?"

I say, sounding surprised I heard him right.

"I don't mind..."

He sounds nervous and he looks down sheepishly. I decide I will call him 'Tommy'.

"Sure... Tommy."

He looks up at me and grinned genuinely.

"Come on, I better show ya your hammock."

"Yea."
"Thanks Newt..."

My eyes widen. I smile.

"Your welcome Tommy."

He smiles back at me. And from that moment I knew, I would follow him anywhere. For that smile, will forever be happy under my watch.

My eyes widen. 'Oh god... I am in love with him...'
