Without Me

I woke up to my alarm blaring at an ungodly volume. We were having morning skate really early because it was Sunday and the game was at three o'clock. I opened my eyes to see Sidney snoring inches from my face. I giggled, and he groaned, opening his eyes.

"Hi," I smiled.

"Hey," he said huskily, his lips turning up at the corners.

"You have a game to play, mister; I think you should get up," I poked his chest.

"But it's so nice and warm here with you," he pulled me closer, burying his face in my hair.

"I know it is," I smirked.

"Does that mean I get to stay?" His words were muffled and I laughed.

"How long will it take you to get ready?"

"Five minutes."

"You can stay for a little while, then," I conceded, kissing his shoulder.

He groaned, "You shouldn't do that."

"Why not?"

"It messes with my head."

"What about this?" I kissed his neck and moved slowly up to his jaw.

"Definitely shouldn't do that," he muttered. Then I moved to his lips. His tongue slid into my mouth and he rolled on top of me, suddenly awake. His hands tangled themselves in my hair and I trailed my fingers down his chest. "Don't stop," he complained when I stilled at his hips. I traced along the waistband of his pants and started back up. He broke the kiss, out of breath, "That's not fair."

"Life's not fair, Crosby," I grinned.

"You. Are. Trying. To. Kill. Me." He said between kisses.

"Not quite yet, I'm not," I replied. He shook his head and smirked at the implications. I rolled my eyes, "Alright, enough, get off of me, Crosby."

"Have I told you that I like it when you boss me around?" He asked, standing up and pulling me off of the bed.

"Mmm, have I told you that I really like you?"

"You have. In fact, you told me that you love me," he pulled me against him and played with the strap on my bra. He met my gaze through his eyelashes and slid the strap down my shoulder, pressing his lips to the place where it had just been.

Goosebumps ran across my skin as his fingers explored my body. "I told you that because I do love you," I almost moaned.

"And I love you," he said against my shoulder.

I lifted his chin with my finger and kissed him on the lips. "Better score for me tonight, Crosby," I said, then I slipped away from him to take a shower. I heard him chuckling as I shut the bathroom door.

Sidney made breakfast and then drove us both to morning skate. We were on the ice before anyone else got there and I watched him warm up as I skated laps. Geno showed up next, "Hi, guys."

"Hey, G," Sid said.

"Hey, Evgeni. How's it going?" I replied.

"How's what?" He gave me a puzzled look.

"What's up?"

"The... roof?"

I smiled and rephrased the question again, "How are you?"

"Oh, good. I'm good," he nodded. He joined Sidney and I watched them talking; I wondered if Sidney would tell him what had happened. Well, it wasn't like we had had sex, but we had both admitted our feelings for each other. Did guys talk about that? I had no idea. I also didn't know if we were a thing or not, but I had to focus on the team and tonight's game first.
