“Follow me,” the boy said.
The girl nodded in the affirmative and followed him. Suddenly the ghoul stopped and Ri almost ran into him.
"Where is my book?" Rain turned and asked.
“Oops,” the girl awkwardly looked down, “sorry, I forgot it in the living room."
“It’s funny that I was afraid to forget it, I gave it to you, and now you have already forgotten,” the guy laughed sincerely, “I hope you don’t mind if we take it first?"
"Of course! I'm glad you're not mad." Ri smiled in relief.
The girl and the ghoul returned to the room without incident and quickly found the book.
"My bedroom is closer, can we take it there, and then I will give it to you?" Riana suggested.
"Ok".
They quickly carried the book and walked to their destination. When Rain and Riana passed through the bright corridor, then the dark one began.
“Rain,” Ri drawled a little plaintively.
"Yes?" - the guy turned around sharply, thinking that something bad had happened.
“I don’t see anything,” after a pause, the girl added, “and I left the phone in the room."
"Oh," - the guy laughed softly, - "I forgot that you are not a ghoul. Can I?" he extended his hand.
"Thank you," the girl smiled, knowing for sure that the ghoul saw her smile.
Riana took his hand and they intertwined their fingers. A pleasant warmth from his hand spread through the girl's body. They moved on. The dark-haired girl walked just mechanically, but her thoughts were elsewhere. She thought about Rain. I tried to understand why he was so shy. Why is it so embarrassing to apologize? Why blush, in the end. But still, she could not understand her feelings. The girl has never been in a relationship. Yes, and never fell in love. Unless, of course, we do not take into account the short-lived sympathy for a classmate, ten years ago. The only thing she was sure of was that she definitely wanted to be around him more often. And just as often wanted to feel the warmth of his hands. And more often to hear his velvety voice. Rain snapped out of his thoughts.
"Wait, there's someone there," Rain said quietly. Her eyes got used to the darkness a little and the girl looked where he was pointing with his hand. The ghoul and the girl were already almost near the stairs leading to the first floor of the church.
"What should we do?" - the girl asked quietly, when suddenly footsteps were heard very close by.
Without hesitation, Rain grabbed the girl by the waist and dragged her into a hidden room that looked like a wall. The girl would not have guessed that it was possible to enter there, if not for Rain and this situation in general.
“Try to breathe more quietly,” Rain whispered in his ear, dousing the skin near his cheek with hot air.
In fact, it made things worse, because now the girl couldn't think of anything else other than how damn nice it was. It was also damn good to feel the ghoul's hand on my waist. It made it harder to breathe, so Ri covered her mouth with her hand so as not to accidentally betray their presence.
"Be patient, we'll get out of here soon," Rain whispered again.
Just at that moment, footsteps sounded very close and they heard the voice of the Cardinal. Copia just walked somewhere and talked on the phone. When he disappeared around the corner and the steps subsided, Rain helped the girl out of there, and led her up the stairs. Riana and the water ghoul finally made their way upstairs. Moonlight poured through the windows, so everything was visible at a glance.
