Games with the death (Rain×Reader)

Ch 9

The ghouls dragged Riana into the church building and collided nose to nose with Cardinal, Swiss and Sunshine.

"What happened?", - Swiss fell into a stupor from the situation he saw.

"Sunshine, call Aether and Mountain. Right now", - the Cardinal commanded.

"One second", - girl left, and a minute later returned with two ghouls.

"Oh, Satan... what happened?" - Aether took his head in shock.

"That's all later, she needs to sleep now," - said Cardi.

The Earthy and Aethereal ghouls without further ado affected girl, she passed out, and the ghouls together with Sunshine dragged her into the room.

"Someone has to look after her until she wakes up, I would do it myself, but I still have things to do," - Cardinal said, and there was silence in the hall for a moment.

"Ahem.. I can," - Rain said softly.

"I can, too, by the way," - Swiss added.

"And me," - Sodo offered.

"You shouldn't be allowed near her at all. Sodo, if you are involved in this, I swear by Satan, I will send you back to hell," - the Cardinal raised his voice seriously, showing that he was not joking.

"It's not my fault! In the morning, yes, I made a bad joke, but not now!", -Dewdrop cried out in exasperation.

"We'll find out tomorrow. Rain will sit with Riana as soon as she wakes up - call me, or Aether."

"Okay."

*The next morning*

Riana rubbed her eyes tiredly, quietly sat up on the bed and looked around. She was in her room in the church. On the right, near the bed, there was a suitcase, and next to it, on a chair with his back to the girl, Rain was sitting and, apparently, reading a book. He immediately turned around.

"How are you feeling?" - quietly asked.

"It's like I was hit on the head with a hammer."

"It will pass soon," - after a short silence, the ghoul lived, - "will you wait a couple of minutes? I have to call Papa Emeritus IV or Aether."

She just nodded. The ghoul went out, and in less than one minute returned with the Aether.

"How are you feeling?" - Aether sympathetically took the girl by the shoulder.

"To be honest? It sucks."

"I had to, sorry."

"Thanks for that, I think if you hadn't done it, it would have been worse for me."

"Can I look at your memories to understand what happened?"

"Okay," - girl replied with an inviting gesture.

"It may be unpleasant if it gets bad, tell me," - said Aether, girl only nodded in response.

The ghoul concentrated and Ri felt a slight weakness in her body.

"Are you okay?" - the voice of the Aether rang in my head.

"Yes," - the girl answered mentally.

"Okay, then try to focus on what happened yesterday, so that it would be easier for me to find," - Aether said and closed his eyes in concentration.

He sat quietly for a couple of minutes, and suddenly raised an eyebrow in surprise, as if what he saw puzzled him.

"Rain, can you please come out? Ri and I need to talk face-to-face," Aether asked at the end of his session.
