Purgatory (Butters X Kenny)

Chapter 3

Kenny woke up in the void. The cool water surrounding him. "Damn that hurt." He muttered to himself. He really hoped Karen wouldn't be the one to find him, but she would forget all about it by tomorrow. Right now he had to be sure of what he saw. He got up from the pooling water that gently caressed his tired body. Looking around to find that he could see nothing.

He paced around the vast emptiness and began to call out in hope of an answer.
"Leo! Are you there?" Putting his hand to his mouth he kept calling hoping someone could hear. "Leo!...... Hellooooo?" What if this didn't work. Kenny started to second guess his actions. When he heard a soft humming. That song? He had heard it before. Walking in the direction of the noise. He continued calling out. "Butters? Come on! Are you here?"

The humming stopped replaced by a soft voice asking "Kenny?" He turned and saw him standing there in all his glory. Looking unsure of everything just like he did when they were young. "Butters!" Kenny shouted running to the vision. He picked Butters up in a warm embrace nuzzling into him while swinging him in his arms. Kenny inhaled deeply taking everything in. It smelled like Butters. Soft sweet jasmine and sugar. God he had missed that smell. Butters giggled "I missed you too Ken!" He looked down to see Kenny with tears in his eyes. Wiping them away with his soft thumbs. Kenny smiled

He kissed him lightly at first. Then overwhelmingly soft kisses all over his sweet little face. Just like he used to. His cheeks, his chin, the scar over his eye, his forehead. Butters giggled the whole time. It felt surreal. Kenny couldn't believe it. He was here waiting for him! His whole body felt light. He was elated. Then a realization struck him. He couldn't stay. His face fell.
Butters looked down to him. "What's wrong Ken?" He asked softly
"I...I can't stay." Kenny said putting the boy down. Butters smiled at him. "Well that's ok Ken! I'm just glad I got to see you." He said rubbing his knuckles together flushing at the thought that Kenny came to visit him. "I will be back Leo. I promise" Kenny held Butters face in his hands kissing him gently. Something told him that Butters was fragile a long time ago. He rested his head against butters looking into his eyes. "I love you Leo."

He felt the all too familiar pull. Butters opened his mouth to speak but he was gone.

Kenny woke up like a shot! He did it! It worked! He rejoiced in his small room "Yes!" He shouted jumping in the air. He heard rapid footsteps from the hall. His door swinging open to see Karen. She stepped in the room only to be swooped up by Kenny. He pulled her into a warm embrace that startled her slightly. "Kenny what's going on I heard you shouting?" She stared down at him. He looked up to her smiling with light tears in his eyes. "It worked!" He squealed. He set Karen down lightly and went back to jumping and dancing around his room.

Karen stood by confused. "What worked Ken? What the hell are you talking about?" Kenny paused to look at her. He couldn't tell Karen that he killed himself to see his boyfriend. She would be too concerned and try to stop him. He simply smiled with his cheesiest grin and said. "Nothing"
