Chapter 28 Maria's Delicate Pregnancy

As the attending physician talked to Jericho.

"Your wife's condition is so delicate. She will be needing complete bed rest. I suggest she stayed here in the hospital for a month for complete monitoring. She is not allowed to be stressed nor be bothered as these will trigger her anxiety as well," The doctor gently advised Jericho regarding her condition of Maria.

Maria had suffered anxiety and depression in previous months due to the tragic death of her parents. Her body took a lot of depressant medicines making her fragile. Though her pregnancy is not expected, Jericho will do everything to take good care of Maria and their child. He won't allow Carla to ruin everything.

He took his mobile phone and contact his friend to investigate Carla's matter. He is not convinced that Carla's child is his. He always uses protection every time a woman climbed unto his bed. It was only Maria to whom he didn't use any protection as he loved this woman so much.

"Mr. del Fuego, are you listening?" the doctor asked Jericho who is quite not listening.

"Oh yes, doctor. I understand. Thank you so much," Jericho replied.

Jericho requested for a private nurse to personally assist Maria especially when he is out of the hospital.

He also needs to attend to his errands in his Realty and Brokerage Firm. He hasn't visited his firm for quite some time.

After he arranged everything for Maria's needs in the hospital, he left and went to his office.

Carla reached Del Fuego's Ancestral house already.

She is so excited to meet Jericho and introduced her unborn child in her belly as Mr. del Fuego's child.

She was so amazed when entering the Mansion. She wasn't expecting Mr. del Fuego is this rich.

Carla caressed her baby bump and whispered," Oh my child, you will inherit everything here someday." She smiled magnanimously.

She pressed knocked on the door excitedly as she was expecting a helper to open the door.

Surprisingly it was Mrs. Del Fuego who opened the door. Carla was so angry seeing such an elegant woman open the door. Mrs. del Fuego doesn't look her real age, she looked younger and Carla thought that she was Jericho's girlfriend.

"Hey, who the hell are you? Where is Jericho?" Carla entered the mansion vigorously and bumped Mrs. del Fuego.

"Who are you to trespass here," Mrs. Del Fuego was so furious at how arrogant Carla approached her and entered their mansion so rudely.

"I am Jericho's girlfriend. And you? How about you? Are you his new flavor of the month?" Carla raised one of her eyebrows while rudely shouting at Mrs. del Fuego.

Mrs. del Fuego then stared at Carla from head to toe and said, "I can't believe that my son had a trash girlfriend like you. My God."

Carla's face became pale. She wasn't expecting Jericho's mother will be this young. She almost looks younger than her.

"Oh! My apology Mommy. I wasn't expecting you are so young," Carla almost knelt in front of Mrs. del Fuego.

"Get lost! I don't want to see your face here," Mrs. del Fuego yelled at Carla.

"And don't think more, don't even call me Mommy!" Mrs. del Fuego was so furious. How in the world her son met this woman?

"I am so sorry Madam," Carla said before she left.

She immediate ride in her car and left the mansion. How stupid she was. She hit her car accelerator and rapidly leave the place. She will just look for a hotel first and think of her next move before she looks for Jericho tomorrow.

Her impulsiveness made her trash. She sighed. "How can I make up his mother now?" she asked herself.

Meanwhile... at the hospital.

Maria woke up and saw her private nurse.

"Good morning Madam. How are you? What do you want?" the nurse politely asked Maria.

"I am ok. I just need some water please," she said.

The nurse immediately pour some water and gently gave it to Maria.

"Where is Echo?" Maria asked.

"Your husband left for work Madam. He said he will come back later. I am Kenna, your private nurse," the nurse answered her.

Maria nodded and continue drinking her water.

"As per Doctor Manrique, you are under complete bedrest Madam. Please inform me of everything you need. You are not allowed to move a lot. Even when you are going to pee and use a comfort room, I need to assist you, Madam," the kind nurse told Maria.

"Thank you so much, Ms. Kenna," Maria said to her private nurse.

"Can you please turn on the television please, I would like to watch some news," she asked for the nurse's help.

"Noted Madam," Kenna replied and turned on the television and switched the channel to the news.

Maria kept on watching when her mobile phone vibrates.

She opened it and read the message," How are you honey? I'll be there later. I love you," a message from Echo.

Maria smiled. Few messages yet it brought warmth to her heart.

"I love you too. I'm ok. I'll just wait for you later. Take care," she replied.

Maria continue to watch the news and when she felt sleepy, she slowly closed her eyes already.

When private nurse Ms. Kenna show that she was already sleeping, she turned off the television already and started to check Maria's vital signs and logged in to her chart.

She messaged Mr. del Fuego regarding what Maria is doing right now as she was tasked by Jericho to report to him from time to time.

"Hi, Sir. Madam is already sleeping soundly," she messaged Mr. del Fuego.

"Thank you, Ms. Kenna. Please assist her in everything," Jericho reminded the private nurse.

Ms. Kenna is highly recommended by Dr. Manrique. They will also hire Ms. Kenna to be Maria's private nurse when she returns to the mansion.

Jericho smiled at the thoughts of being a soon-to-be father of their child. Maria and their child will complete his family.

He will be meeting his parents later and planning for his engagement with Maria. He will marry Maria before she gives birth to their child. He doesn't want his child to be born without a wedding blessing to Maria.

He will ensure that everything will be in place accordingly.
