Chapter 8 First Dinner Date

Teacher Maria was quiet during their journey. Mr. del Fuego was looking at her once in a while. He smiled when he saw that today, Teacher Maria wore lipstick and light make-up. From their previous meetings, she was so simple with no make-up at all. Her beauty is quite intriguing. He can see her natural beauty the longer he stared at her. "God, she is really beautiful," he said to himself.

Teacher Maria was so conscious of her looks. She was worried if she put on too much makeup or was her lipsticks too visible enough for Mr. del Fuego to look at her once in a while. She was now becoming uncomfortable that's why she asked him," Excuse me Mr. del Fuego, eeer, I mean Echo, why are you looking at me while you are driving? Is my makeup too thick? We might encounter a vehicular accident if you continue to look at me while you are driving." There was a bit of concern and weariness in her tone when she asked him.

"Of course not. I know how to drive well. No worries. I'm looking at you because I just can't believe that you accepted my invitation for our dinner date now?" he said truthfully.

"What else can I do? Who am I to offend someone like you," she said while blushing her cheeks.

Mr. del Fuego saw how she blushed and he finds it cute. She was so innocently beautiful indeed. "I think I like her," he said to himself.

He continued to drive and upon arrival at one of the most popular restaurants in Batangas City, El Toro German Restaurant. This popular restaurant offered excellent menus, as they served German, Mexican, Filipino, and other specialty cuisines. Teacher Maria was quite shy to step out of his car. She was just wearing her working uniform while the majority of the diners were wearing their formal clothes. Even if Mr. del Fuego was wearing casual wear, he still looks like an elegant and fashionable Bachelor.

Mr. del Fuego saw how she reacted. He came over and holds her hand and said," I know what you are thinking. Come on, you look so beautiful tonight okay." He looked into her eyes and he controlled himself to kiss her. She has owned a petit innocent beautiful face that he wanted to cup and kiss at this very moment. "Whew, I can't help myself. She's capturing me every time I look into her eyes," he said to himself. He is quite surprised with his reaction to her.

He remembered his initial plan was to pursue her and eventually play with her. That's it. But why is it he is quite feeling a little different now? When he looked at her. She looked so innocent and fragile that he wanted to take good care of and protect her.

"Thank you," Teacher Maria accepted his hand offered and let him hold her cold hand. She was so uncomfortable. It will be her first time to date the opposite sex and inside this popular and expensive restaurant here in their town.

"Good evening Mr. del Fuego, Good evening Madam," the Head Captain of the Restaurant gave courtesy to them.

Mr. del Fuego was of the major stockholders of the said popular restaurant in Batangas City, El Toro German Restaurant.

"I'll accompany you on your way to your VIP dining room Sir, Madam," he said.

"Thank you," said Mr. del Fuego while still holding the cold hand of Teacher Maria. He felt how cold and nervous she was.

"Let's go. Relax. We are just going to have our dinner together okay," he told Teacher Maria. He wanted her to feel comfortable and secure on his side.

"Okay. Thank you," she said.

After settling in their VIP dining room, the menu was already brought by the staff and started to fill in their table.

The ambiance is great, the VIP Dining room has a romantic theme and the menu being served in front of them was appetizing. It has first-class Asian and international cuisine.

As they were having their dinner, Mr. del Fuego observed how feminine and petit Teacher Maria was. She was so reserved now compared with the first time they'd met.

"Hey, aren't you enjoying our dinner?" he asked as he observed that she only ate little portions of the served menu.

"I am already full," she said.

Mr. del Fuego put more steaks on her plate and sliced it for her, "Eat well. You are so thin Maria," he said while filling more food on her plate.

Teacher Maria blushed at Mr. del Fuego's action. She was so surprised that the most famous and popular Bachelor in their town is serving her food on her plate.

She smiled and said," Thank you Echo, but I am almost full. This is enough please."

"Alright, just this one. Try it it's their specialty," he sliced a bit of the steak and put it inside his mouth.

Some female diners were looking at them and the majority of them were too envious of Teacher Maria especially when Mr. del Fuego feed her.

"Oh my! Is she the new flavor of the month of Mr. del Fuego?" one of the female diners can't help but murmur with her friend.

"It seemed that Mr. del Fuego changed his taste now. She doesn't look like the other women being around Mr. del Fuego. She's a bit ugly and simple compared with the rest," the one smirked while talking to her friend.

Teacher Maria heard them but she kept her mouth shut.

Mr. del Fuego told her, "Don't mind them. You are so beautiful tonight Maria," he comforted her and wanted to give her a feeling of security while she was within him.

They had a little talk about their family background and their work. Teacher Maria finds him fun to be with. They have talked a lot more. She is now being comfortable and at ease with him.

Mr. del Fuego on the other hand finds her interesting and happy to be with. He felt at ease as well having a conversation with her.

After they had their sumptuous dinner, Mr. del Fuego send Teacher Maria to her apartment.

"Thank you for having dinner with me Maria. It's my pleasure knowing you more," he said.

"Thank you also Echo. Please take care of your driving," she said.

Mr. del Fuego approached her and kissed her forehead before he left.

Teacher Maria was frozen and even if Mr. del Fuego's car was already out of her sight, she was still standing in front of her apartment. She can't believe that he kissed her on her forehead.
