Chapter 35 Carla's Interogation

Carla was so afraid after she was brought by the investigation team of Carlo to a dark warehouse in Lemery, Batangas. She wasn't aware of what would be done to her.

She almost threw up after someone removed a piece of cloth from her eyes. There were lots of big rats roaming around and the place was so dirty. She couldn't even cope with the rotten smell in her nostrils.

"What the fuck! What kind of place is this?" she almost shouted.

"Well, this will be your home from now on," Carlo said.

"No! I couldn't stay here. Let me out of here please," Carla cried.

"After what you did with Jericho and his family? Do you think Jericho will spare you?" Carlo yelled at her.

Carla was so frightened.

"Look! I only want a few bucks. Just give it to me and I will leave them at peace," she said. "I don't want to be here please," she cried.

"Few bucks! You could have asked Jericho about it. Why let Maria and their babies suffer then?" Carlo asked

"I don't know about Maria. I've just learned about her when I reached Jericho's place. I am innocent too. I didn't know that Maria was pregnant either," Carla was so guilty confessing.

Carlo was so amazed at this little liar in front of him. He wanted to hit Carla's little face.

"You seemed to plan everything before you went here," Carlo caused her.

"Yeah! It was my plan but I didn't know that there was Maria in Jericho's life already," Carla replied.

"What's your real intention," Carlo seated in front of the crying Carla.

"Just a few bucks. It wasn't my intention to hurt anybody, I swear!" Carla almost shouted at Carlo's face.

Carlo hit Carla's face. He was controlling himself not to hurt her but she was too much already.

Ring! Ring! Carlo's mobile phone rang. It was Jericho.

"Yeah, brother. Yes, I am handling Carla here. No worries. I will give her the punishment she won't ever forget in her entire life," Carlo gritted his teeth while talking to Jericho.

Carla on the other side was so frightened.

"I need to get out of this place," she whispered to herself.

"What are you murmuring ?" Carlo slowly walked in front of Carla.

"Jericho wanted you to settle in jail. You have to learn your lesson," Carlo said,

"No, please. I won't bother them anymore. I will leave and go to a faraway town please," Carla sincerely asked Carlo.

"Luis, call the police and detain her with maximum security," Carlo commanded his people.

"No... No..." Carla couldn't do a thing anymore. She cried aloud.

Carlo is now cleaning her hands after settling with Carla. He will go back to the hospital and visit his Maria. She had been a good friend of his and he almost treated her as his little sister ever since his friend Jericho got engaged with her.

He was so mad at Carla after what she did to Maria and the babies. The three were innocent and now suffering from what Carla did. He understood why Jericho was at the peak of his revenge.

Nobody can tell when Maria will recover from the Coma and how the babies will survive with their mother's medical condition.

Carla then was brought to City Jail and needed to be charged with attempted murder and homicide. She will be detained for more than ten years with no bail.

"What have I done? Oh, my God! I don't want to be rotten here," Carla cried. She didn't expect her to be placed in this jail.

Carlo called Jericho and informed them of the status of Carla.

"All done my brother. No worries. Let's keep on praying for the safety and recovery of Maria and your twins," Carlo said to Jericho.

"Thank you, Carlo," Jericho replied while looking at Maria's pale face in front of him.

Maria had so many tubes on her body and her body was so thin already.

There's a monitor on his baby's heartbeat as well and Jericho is watching on the apparatus.

He couldn't help himself but cry and blame everything he did on Maria.

He wanted to be a good husband and a good father to their babies.

The elder Del Fuego couple went to chapel once again and conducted a religious vigil for the fast healing of Maria and the babies.

"I always believe in miracles and I know that God will make His way for our loved ones," Mrs. Del Fuego told her husband, Mr. Del Fuego.

"I know. I always trust His process. In God we trust," Mr. Del Fuego responded.

The two elders started their prayer vigil in the hospital's chapel. They've been there for more than three hours.

Jericho patiently stayed in Maria's VIP room and watched over her. He doesn't want to blink to keep an eye on his beloved wife and unborn kids.

Maria on the other side was starting to feel the presence of her husband, Jericho. She can smell the scent of disinfectants and medicines from the hospital. She slowly opened her eyes and felt the dryness of her throat.

"Water! Water! I want some water please," she asked softly. Jericho overheard the soft voice of Maria and immediately approved here her water on a cotton ball.

Jericho pressed the button to the nurse's station, "My wife is already awake, please come over. Thanks," he said over the microphone.

"Thank God, you're already awake my love," Jericho couldn't help but cry while pressing the cotton ball with water on Maria's lips.

"Why are you crying, Echo?" Maria softly asked him.

"I am happy. You've finally awakened. You've been sleeping for a week," Jericho gently touched Maria's thin and pale face.

"You know what, we have twins and you are carrying them," he said to Maria.

Maria gently caressed her belly and said with teary eyes," My twins. I have twins," she smiled.

"Yeah! God gave us twins," Jericho kissed the forehead of his wife, Maria.

"God is good," she said.

The elder couple Del Fuego came along and were so happy seeing Maria has risen already.

"Thank God, you're finally awakened," Mrs. Del Fuego hugged Maria while crying.
