Chapter 34 Jericho And His Father's Heart To Heart Talk

The elder Del Fuego, immediately went through his son and invited him to have a coffee break at the cafe near the Hospital's lobby.

"Come on son, let's have some coffee. Maria will be taken care of by you Mom," he put his arm on his son's shoulder and led him to the cafe.

"Thank you, Dad," Jericho was almost wiping off the tears from his eyes as he came along with the elder Del Fuego.

The two men were led to the Cafe in the Hospital's lobby.

Little did they know that Carla was there also and looking for an opportunity to go to Maria's room. She wasn't that bad and she felt a bit guilty of what she did. She just wanted to get some money to compensate for her needs. She was a bit curious about what was happening to Maria. She wasn't aware that Maria was having two babies in her belly.

When Carla saw Jericho and his father were coming over, she hid at the big plant at the corner of the Cafe. She wanted to hear what the two would be talking about.

"Have some coffee, son. Let's talk," the elder Del Fuego gave a cup of brewed coffee to Jericho and started to have a conversation with his son. He was so worried that his only son was having difficulty with Maria's case. He was preoccupied with Maria's depression and hospitalization these past few days.

"I was so worried about Maria and our babies, Dad. They don't deserve these cruel things happening to them right now. They were all innocents," Jericho couldn't help but cry already. He had been keeping his tears all the while but now, they are all coming out and he couldn't help it.

Carla felt so much guilty after hearing that three innocent lives were suffering because of her greediness.

"I wasn't expecting that Maria was pregnant with two, Oh my God, What have I done?" Carla was so shocked upon learning these things.

"No need to blame yourself, my son. We need to pray for the safe and fast recovery of your wife and twins," the elder Del Fuego tapped his son's shoulders, assuring him that everything will be alright in God's hands.

"Thank you, Dad," Jericho felt a bit relieved talking with his father. His mother was disappointed with him and he felt it so much. He knew how his mother loved Maria as if she was her very own daughter as well.

"Don't mind your mother's rant. You knew how much she loved Maria so much. It was clear that she wanted to protect Maria and the babies," Mr. Del Fuego said.

"I understand Mom so well Dad. I just can't get through with that Carla ruining my family," Jericho gritted his teeth upon thinking of the chaos done by a certain Carla.

"Let your investigation team handle her. We will give what's the best punishment to that woman," Mr. del Fuego said.

Carla was so afraid upon learning that she was already under investigation.

"I should leave already. I can't bear being here anymore," Carla slowly moved aside and started to leave the Cafe, when someone held her arms so tight.

It was Carlo. Jericho's friend who was handling the investigation with her.

"Oh my! Let me go," Carla shouted.

The two Aadel Fuegos noticed them and immediately went to Carla.

"Hey, what are you doing here? Are you planning to do any harm to Maria and my babies?" Jericho wanted to punch Carla's face in front of everybody.

"Hold on!" Carlo immediately controlled Jericho and asked him to stay put as they were in a public place.

"Son, keep your temper. Carlo will handle everything," the elder Del Fuego said.

"I will handle this, brother. No worries. We will scrutinize Carla and give her maximum interrogation. We will give justice to Maria and your twins," Carlo gave an assurance to Jericho.

"No! No!" Carla wanted to run away but Carlo and his people already took her away to jail.

"Thank you, brother," Jericho sincerely thanked Carlo for helping him with this case. He won't gonna take Carla for granted with this.

Carla had no choice but to come along with Carlo and his team. She doesn't want to cause more trouble. She only wanted a few bucks of money then she would leave already.

"Please, be careful," Carla said while crying.

"You better behave as Jericho won't give you mercy after everything you've done to his family," Carlo gave her few words.

"I will, but be gentle with me hu," Carla couldn't help but cry.

Jericho and the elder Del Fuego went back to Maria's VIP room.

Jericho felt so guilty seeing how Maria's almost lifeless body was lying on a hospital bed. Maria was the only woman in his life who loved him so much. He was such an idiot who didn't foresee the difficulties that might arise with their relationship.

They were just starting a family of their own, and he won't allow anybody to ruin it.

"How's Maria, Mom?" Jericho asked his mother

"She's still under observation and in a state of Coma. Let's have a vigil prayer for her and the twins," his mother was a bit calm now and could lightly talk to him.

"Everything will be alright, son. Let's trust the Lord," the elder Del Fuego tapped his son's shoulder giving him hope.

Jericho just nods. He was so grateful to have his parents beside him during this time when he needed them most.

He started to caress Maria's thin and pale face. He kissed her forehead and softly caressed Maria's belly.

"My twins, please hold on and keep on fighting for. I will make it up to you both and your Mom. I love you all," Jericho even kissed Maria's belly.

The elder Del Fuego couple were just looking at their son. They pity Jericho. They haven't seen their son as pitiful as this.



"Everything will be alright, my loving Maria. Please be still. I love you so much," Jerisco whispered to Maria's ears.
