It was breakfast the next morning and Draco was trying, key word – trying, to do a spell. He was pointing at his goblet a saying 'Eye of rabbit, harp string hum. Turn this water, into rum.' repeatedly. He looked in his cup and shook his head.
"What's Draco trying to do to that glass of water?" Goyal asked me.
"Turn it into rum. He hasn't even managed a weak tea yet!"
I was cut off when a mighty flash occurs. I now saw that the cup had exploded, and Draco was left charred. Several students laugh at this as I fan away the smoke with my hand. Suddenly, a flock of owls start coming into the hall from the rafters above.
"Ah. Mail's here!" Draco said embarrassed.
I ignored the owls swooping high and low and grabbed a glass.
"Hey Draco!" I called. "Look"
I pointed my wand at the cup and said 'Aguamenti'. A jet of water flew out of the end of my wand. then I mumbled the spell, and the once clear liquid was now a deep brown.
"Show off!" he said to me before going back to his breakfast.
I walked over to Harry and overheard dean saying:
'Hey, look! Neville's got a Remembrall!'
I walked over to him.
"I've read about those. When the smoke turns red, it means you've forgotten something." at that moment, the orb turned red, just as I said. He responded with.
'The only problem is, I can't remember what I've forgotten.'
I walked back over Harry and picked up a newspaper.
"Hey, Harry, ...Ron, somebody broke into Gringotts, listen. Believed to be the work of dark witches or wizards unknown, Gringotts goblins, while acknowledging the breach, insist that nothing was taken. The vault in question, number 713, had in fact been emptied earlier that same day. That's odd. That's the vault Harry and Hagrid went to, and on the same day, interesting."
That afternoon, outside the castle, me, Ron and Harry with the rest of the Gryffindors and Slytherins were lined up in two rows with brooms by our sides. The teacher, Madam Hooch, came down the line. She had short hair and hawk yellow eyes.
"Good afternoon, class.
"Good afternoon, Madam Hooch."
"Right, everyone, welcome to your first flying lesson. Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say, up!"
At that moment we all shouted 'UP!'
After I said "Up!", the broom immediately flew into my hand as did Harry's.
Amazed, I simply let out a 'Wow'.
I saw Hermione stare at us as the class continues.
I noticed that when Draco said Up, the broomstick flew up as he smugly grinned. He whispered in my ear saying he had been doing it for years.
Hooch was saying 'With feeling!' over to the rest of the people who couldn't do it or hadn't done yet.
Hermione, as her broomstick slowly rose, was shouting, quite frustrated, 'Up. Up. Up. Up.'
Ron shouted up for the 4th time 'Up!!' then his broom immediately shot up and whacked him on the nose.
"OW!" he rubbed his nose.
"Ooh!" Harry laughed.
"Shut up, Harry." Ron then started to laugh after he recovered with me and harry.
