NATASHA'S POV:

"Rock, paper, scissors shoot!"

I heard as I came up on the surface of the cliff. The entire pack was there, the forests clear and quiet for now and y/n told me if she needed anything she would call. I think she was afraid Tony might be the one to notice a giant wolf lingering underneath her window. I begged to differ.

"What's going on?" I asked, seeing Bucky and Carol do rock paper scissors.

"We can't decide who goes down there so we're just gonna let the game decide. Winner gets to go swimming." Carol explained.

"I volunteered but they wouldn't let me." Clint shrugged.

I hummed, "Maybe because their kids need to see their father. That goes with everyone else too. Your family needs to see you."

"Pretty awkward when you don't exactly have one." Bucky coughed.

"I know you want to be the one to do this. But you don't always have to be the one to sacrifice yourself." Clint said, "you also can't take away other people's choices on the matter either. they do as they wish. for you. for them. for all of us."

"Maybe she just wants to look like a hero in front of y/n." Yelena snickered.

"Really? Maybe you just wanted to make y/n scared by jumping off the cliff so she would cling to you." I shot back.

Yelena laughed, "Y/n jumped off that cliff like a champ. You should have seen her! But you were too busy covering everybody's else's patrols so that they could be here and you could push her away."

"Would you want to subject anyone to this life?!" I huffed, clenching my fists tight.

Yelena was calm. It was a funny look for her but it was something I saw more and more. Usually the roles were reversed but it seemed I was always on hot with anger.

"It's not subjection if she feels the same and wants it- no craves it just as bad as you. They would be the only normalcy in my life and I would do everything to cherish that. Some of us don't get the chance to imprint."

Before I could reply, I was cut off by Bucky yelling that he won the rock, paper, scissors game and Carol groaned. Bucky took off his shirt and stripped his pants to reveal his swim trunks.

"What? I came prepared." He looked smug as he answered the question or confused faces were asking.

"Be careful. All you're doing is seeing if it's there. Do not go any further." I told the tall broad man. Bucky nodded and ran and dove off the cliff.

BUCKY'S POV:

I swam down into the deep blackening waters. The further I went, the more pressure built up in my ears. I wasn't sure what I was looking for. Wanda said it had a magic glow and looked like a crack in the ground. I did my best to swim down in the general area where y/n and Yelena were this afternoon.

Swimming further and further, I was just about to come up for air when I saw the thing Wanda had described. It almost looked like lava in the middle of the lake. I swam upwards, my head breaking through the surface and I inhaled a big gulp of air.

"Natasha!" I yelled up to the cliff, "It's there!" I made the trek back up to them, only panting a little while the water dribbled off me, "I found it."

"How do you want to do this, alpha?" Clint asked.

Natasha was quiet, she always was when making decisions, "It's your choice, Buck. If you go in, you figure out where you are. You do not engage. We'll have a wolf tapped in so you can communicate. We don't have the numbers to attack but we can know her location."
