"SHE WAS FLYING AND FALLING AT THE SAME TIME."
~*~*~
A knock resonated on her door. She paused mid work, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. She had locked her room to prevent anyone barging in. She stood up after putting her laptop on sleep. She had been working on the designs Ansh sent her, reviewing, and rechecking very little detail. As she sauntered through the merger file that was provided to her by the Gupta's, she realized that the Mehra's have hired Malhotra Constructions. She was against the idea of two companies working on the same project. Soar is perfectly capable to bring this idea into reality.
To celebrate the merger, the two companies wanted to launch an elite cruise ship. Fortunately for her, the Gupta's decided to take over the technical aspects of the project, leaving the construction to the Mehra's. Although the interior designing was something she would have to work with Malhotra because both the CEOs were too enraptured with the designing skills of both the hired companies.
She wasn't at all happy hearing this. Once she had read the file, she had dialed Mr. Gupta's secretary. She had made her speak to him, but nothing happened. All her arguments had gone in vain because Avinash Gupta was too stubborn to hear her out.
She opened the doors to her room. Naina and Aryansh stood outside her room. Their expressions nervous. Aryansh was continuously tapping his foot. It was a habit that came into play when he was nervous. She raised an eyebrow at the two of them.
She hadn't thought they'd come to meet her so soon after her outburst. Especially Naina, who would know to steer clear of her way until it's life and death. She had contemplated her actions after Kartik confronted her. She might have gone hard on her, but she wasn't wrong. Naina cleared her throat.
"Hi di!" She gave them a blank look. That is their way of approaching her? She mentally rolled her eyes. Physically they got a picture-perfect blank face to look at. Aryansh kicked Naina. She saw it from the corner of her eyes. Naina grunted, almost falling forward. She cleared her throat, trying to gain their attention.
"What?" Naina blinked at her. Aryansh threw his head back, frustrated probably. She suppressed her bubbling irritation. Naina was scared, good thing. But if she couldn't come to the point and speak what they had come to speak, she shouldn't have disturbed her.
"Can we come inside first?" She turned her head to Aryansh.
"Why?"
"So that you don't shut the door on our faces." He muttered under his breath.
"What?" She snapped.
"We want you to go out with us," Aryansh blurted out, "at dinner." He completed.
"You want me to third wheel?" Naina's face turned red while Aryansh fumbled with is words. She was genuinely irritated by these two. What are they even trying to do? "No thanks!" She had almost shut the door when Aryansh pushed it back open. He put his foot in between the door, stopping it from closing.
"What happened Ary?" She huffed. Removing her hand from the door, she walked back to her study. Better to work than waste time at these two fools. She opened her laptop and started working on the reviews she was writing. Naina and Ary followed her in.
Naina gulped. She didn't want to come here. Not when everything that happened in the kitchen. Alas! There was no choice for her. The only one being walk into the lioness' den with her best friend, and Anni's brother, Aryansh in tow. If it had been her choice, she'd have vanished completely from Anni's sight.
She wouldn't have agreed to this whole ordeal even, but Mishti and Aryansh have very good convincing skills. She knows that Anni would surely know of their plan. Yet she went ahead with it. She herself was shocked that these two wanted to conduct such a dangerous event when Mishti had pulled her to her room.
