"HER BLOOD PAINTED HIS BLACKENED SOUL."
~*~*~
She ran behind him, her lips chanting his name. He had already taken off behind Anika and Ansh. The boundary of the restaurant was crossed. She stepped outside. Sun had dimmed to a faint glow. The sky resembled a canvas. Streaks of gold and blue mixed with each other. Clouds covering the light time and again.
The sky thundered. It was warning them that it may rain. Like God was giving her a hint that something is going to take place.
She was so angry. Angry and frustrated. What was Ansh doing here? Especially with her. She was so disappointed in her brother for a moment. But then he wasn't aware of their arrival here as well. Only if they spoke like normal siblings.
Things would've been so much easier for her. She can't believe Aryansh too didn't invite Ansh and Anika. He, out of everyone, should've been the first person to blurt out his idiotic plan in front of these two. Maybe then someone would've been able to put some sense in him.
She was living in distress currently. The pressure of someone recognizing Ansh or even Anika was quite high. If she stood calculating the number of things that could go wrong if someone recognizes them, the day will end but the list wouldn't.
She could see him run towards his wife, who had already crossed the road with Ansh. Ansh and Anika ran on the pavement on the other side of the road. Ansh's eyes connecting with her's for a moment. He was hurt. He knew why she was here as he looked at her. One look and anyone would know why she was in a restaurant with a family she couldn't call her own.
Ansh pulled away Anika into an alleyway, disappearing behind the concrete walls painted red. She sighed in relief that they have time to hide. She noticed he had worn a face mask. Good thinking. At least no one would be able to recognize him. One worry gone. Her eyes next darted to the truck that came blaring towards Shivaay.
She froze. Her eyes zeroing on his figure fleeing towards the alley they went in. Her heart stopped beating. The constant thud of her blood pumping organ, stopped for a second. She could feel bile rising her throat as she saw the truck speed towards Shivaay. A vile look on the driver's face.
"Shit!" Her body came out of the temporary shock. She ran towards him. She knew it was intentional. The driver has enough time to stop the truck, yet he is just blaring his horn for no use. Shivaay's senses were too rattled to notice anything besides his wife. He walked straight on the path of the speeding truck.
He wanted his wife. He wanted to know the other man with her. Could Anika have moved on? Did she leave because of him? Was that man someone he should kill? He had to know. The mask on his face erased the chance of seeing his face. Yet he was mesmerized by the amber eyes. The golden circles floating in them caught his attention. A trait known in only Anika.
Could it be.... His mind played games with him. He was worried what was happening. First Anni, and now this strange man with eyes familiar to Anika.
She watched him stare at the disappearing figures of Ansh and Anika. He was going behind them. A man so responsible like him was running on the road. She wanted to smack him. She would've done that if not for the age gap between them. She couldn't possibly raise her hand on him, someone who's her father's age.
She breathed out. There was only one option left now.
She took off with the speed of light, her feet bouncing in the air, as she pulled him away from the line of the truck. Whilst Shivaay stumbled out of the way, she couldn't be fast enough to save herself from the consequences completely. The side of the truck hit her in the shoulder, throwing her flying behind.
