"A FORBIDDEN FRUIT"
~*~*~
" Traitor! " She marched off towards Naina who had been busy checking her sore ass. Naina's eyes widened as she saw Anni pick up any random thing and throw towards her. She ducked as the frying pan collided with the cupboards behind her, falling beside her.
" OMG! Are you mad? " Naina screeched.
" Mad? I'm furious! " She yelled at her.
Naina gulped. She was so serious about killing her. Her eyes blazed as she cornered Naina. The other woman already on the verge of dying. Naina is the only person who is aware of how intense her and Kartik's history is. She is the only person who watched them in real. Naina knew everything yet she went ahead and didn't tell her anything.
She is sure that someone from the house must have contacted Naina when she wasn't available. Which is why this information was kept from her. She thought Naina was more intelligent than this. Seems like she threw away her maturity as she grew up.
Things between her and Kartik have never been simple, they have always found themselves tangled in between. She doesn't care anymore about what happened because if times go back, she'll do it all again. What scares her is that man's will. If he decided to chase her, she would have no other way out than run. And run she will. She is still running knowing that he will catch her. One day, he would catch her, and she would let him.
" You fucking know everything Naina. Yet you went ahead and kept it from me that Kartik fucking Malhotra lives here. " Her voice carried her frustration with it. The fury inside her unleashed. Sound waves crashed on the walls of the kitchen, travelling with the cement and bricks. The walls carried her words to the whole house. She was aware that anyone standing outside would be able to hear them. Yet she didn't care.
Her smooth voice hit Naina with such a force, she recoiled, leaning behind into the cupboards. The harsh corners of her voice scratching her.
So many things are hidden, so many words unspoken. Anni has a lot of fieldwork to do. She cannot let herself get distracted. Not when things are going to escalate, for worse. Her mind and soul have to be focused on just one thing, her plan. If Kartik shares the same space as her then there's no need for another distraction, he'll do the honors. That man is distraction incarnated!
" I-I just wanted to see your reaction. " Naina pouted. She shook her head at the woman. She is so childish.
" Yeah, " she nodded, " Yeah. Of course! I should've expected this from you. " She pursed her lips before huffing out a breath of air. The edge in her voice increasing. She isn't in this anymore. Naina went ahead and hid this from her, maybe even told her brother about it who decided to keep quiet. She isn't entertaining them anymore. They want her to behave with them like she behaves with the rest then fine, she'll do just that.
She stepped back. Turned around and left the kitchen without any other word. On her way upstairs, she gestured to Aryansh to meet her on the terrace at night. The boy gulped as she turned around and marched upstairs. Her face displayed the fury she felt. She would never let this go.
As she turned around the corner to march in her room, a hand reached out for her. She was circled, her axis spun. An arm twisted her arm behind her, pinning her to the wall while the other engulfed her free hand pinning it on the wall, beside her head. She raised her head, her arm struggling to free from the iron grip.
Kartik. What problem does he have with her? Her anger increased as his face came in front of her. She felt his eyes bore into her. His pupils dilated. She waited for him to say anything, give her the reason for caging her so suddenly. She has zero idea what is going in his mind right now.
