Y/n Pov: 

I didn't know how someone's life could change in moments, yet here I am running in the hallways, dodging the fire and rumbles of stones so I don't get caught up in it. Hogwarts; once our home, peace was shattered in this war. 

Passing through the Great Halls of the castle, I searched for a certain girl. A girl, who played a significant and important role in changing my life for the better. A girl, whom I admire the most for her intelligence, bravery, knowledge and beauty. A girl, who became the queen of my heart. A girl, whom I wish to marry and have a family with... 

Even though we are opposites, if compared to the moon- she is the brighter side, you'll see her in every part of good, always shining, beautiful and perfect with her own flaws, loved. While me, I go with the darker side- hidden within the miseries of my boundaries, hated for being born in Malfoys and known as cowardice for being under the dark lord. 

I didn't choose to be like that... I didn't have a choice. I was alone. Incomplete. Flawed.

But with her... I was complete. She made me feel loved. She was there even in the darkest days and tragic times with me.

And now, I have to protect her. Protect my love. Protect my life. 

I flew.

Hermione's Pov:

Surrounded by death eaters at the entrance, tears falling my eyes searched for my love. When Harry fell from the arms of Hagrid, loud enthusiastic cheers left everyone's mouths from our side. Draco ran away from the death eaters, passing the Dark lord and throwing his wand at Harry. The war has begun again.

With all the chaos, I spotted Y/n near the destroyed pathways of the tower. "Y/n! My love! HERE-" before I can say or scream anything someone pulled onto me.

Y/n Pov:

Frantically moving around the rumbling tower, when the chaos started again I heard my name being called. Immediately recognizing the voice I ran towards it. Pushing anyone who came in the way, throwing spells here and there. I found Hermione in the middle of two masked Death eaters. 

"Petrificus Totalus" firing off the one behind her and before the other can do anything, Hermione stunned them "Stupefy". "Oh, Salazar!" Hermione crashed into my body making us fall. 

"My love", I spoke getting us up. Fixing herself over my lap, she hugged me tightly. Her face buried in my neck her hands wrapped around my shoulder, "You came" she whispered. I could feel a few tears on my skin. Pulling away from her, I cupped her face with my cold hands, wiping the tears away. I kissed her.

 Her lips moved slowly against mine, a bit chapped yet we were passionate. 

It has been a long time since I had held her in my arms since I had felt her lips on mine since I had her this close, and now I can claim her in front of everyone and no one cares. I can hug her in front of everyone without status. I kissed her in front of everyone.

We pulled away slowly, and I took my time adoring her. Her honey-brown eyes, her cute little nose, her pink lips now wet from our kiss, the freckles on her face, a few wounds scattered, and yet she looked so beautiful.

I smiled, 

"You called-" but before I could finish a green light surrounded us and something hit me in the back. 

The last thing I saw was Hermione, my love, my girlfriend, the girl who I was supposed to marry. The ring in my pocket which was to propose to her, just after all this was over, will remain empty. 

I couldn't do anything to reach out.

It all happened so suddenly...

Wish I could have said to her,

"I love you, Hermione Jean Granger" 

for one last time.
