"Well would you look at that!" Chim announced, strutting into the kitchen the morning after Buck and Eddie had left on their mission, "my migraine is cured."
"Convenient." Hen shot back at him with a raised eyebrow from where she was searching the cabinets for their breakfast.
"Don't act like you weren't in on it too, Henrietta." Chim wagged a finger at her.
"Whatever." She shrugged, pulling two boxes out of the cupboard, "dry cereal or oatmeal?"
"Oatmeal." Athena cast her vote as she walked into the kitchen.
"I agree." Bobby assented from where he'd been roped into building legos with Denny and Chris in the living room.
Hen looked at Chim who just shrugged in agreement, "sounds good to me."
"Alright, oatmeal it is." She declared, "boys! Let Bobby come help make breakfast."
There were twin groans from the two boys, who had to let Bobby up from where he was laying on the floor having a Lego wall be built around him. Once it became clear that Bobby didn't mess up the wall in getting up and that they had enough of it built to keep going without him, their complaints stopped.
"Can we have twinkies for breakfast?" Denny asked, making the rest of them chuckle.
"No, Denny." Hen lectured, "We're trying to eat a bit healthier now that we can, remember?"
Both boys groaned at that. They'd all been so focused on getting healthier foods to help their growing bodies that they'd forgotten something. Kids didn't generally like healthy foods.
"C'mon guys! It's good for you!" Chim argued, "You gotta eat healthy so you can grow up big and strong like us! Then you can do stuff like this!"
He raised his arms and lifted them about a foot and a half up from the floor and set them back down on the couch. The sensation of floating was enough to send them into an excited fit of screeches and giggles.
"But oatmeal tastes gross!" Christopher protested once they'd calmed down, "And we had it yesterday!"
"How about this." Bobby suggested from where he was stirring the oats and water in a pot above Athena's flame, "I promise I'll put something in yours today that will make it taste better."
"Depends." Christopher said thoughtfully, Denny nodding along, "What is it?"
"Chocolate!" Bobby stage whispered behind his hand, "That sound good?"
"Yeah!" Denny exclaimed both him and Chris nodding in unison with big grins on their faces before going back to their legos.
"Where the hell are you getting chocolate?" Hen asked, once the boys' attention was drawn away.
"There's hot chocolate powder in the cabinet." Bobby explained, then turned to Chim, "Can you grab it for me, top shelf above the fridge."
Chim looked to the cupboard, flicking a finger to open the door and then drawing out the box of Swiss Miss and floating it over to the counter Bobby was standing by.
"Show off." Hen snarked, pinching his elbow lightly.
He stuck his tongue out at her before turning back to the group as a whole, "So what's the plan for today, since Buck and Eddie don't get back till tonight?"
"Well," Hen started, "Athena and I were gonna have our relaxing spa day, no boys."
"Boys day then!" Chim crowed, "Drop whatever plans you had Bobby, I already decided what we we're doing!"
